Their older albums are better IMO. Try transatlanticism and the photo album (this one's really good - so many great songs like lightness, sound of settling, we looked like giants,etc...). You seem to have good taste (at least to me lol), surprised you didn't know them.

Transatlantacism is fucking amazing, I think Plans was a great follow up. Earlier albums are alright, also, check out Postal Service. On a side note, I'm seeing them in Denver on Saturday. Woot!

Deathcab is great but the Postal Service is where its at. Such Great Heights.... District Sleeps Alone Tonight... mmm what great music.
I'm about to crack into the new Franz album... if it's as good as the last its sure to be a winner in my book.

i spoke to my brother in Scotland last week, and he got the new Franz album from someone at work and he said its ok.
alot of the songs sound the same as the songs on the 1st album (he hoped they would progress), but the ones that are different sounding on the new one, are the best ones.
ill get it, but im not holding high hopes ?

It's just one more song but there's a song called The Dream Of Evan And Chan by Dntel. Dntel is the other half of the Postal Service, and the lead singer of dcfc and ps sings on this one. Basically it was the postal service before it officially formed. It's a nice song too, some love it. If someone has webspace and bandwidth to spare for a little while, I'll up it if some of you want it.

Death Cab is meh. I liked "We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes", and of course I really did like Transatlanticism, there's a reason they blew up on that album. However, Plans is just okay to me. I think they lost a lot of themselves in trying to sound a certain way for everyone. That's just my opinion, though.
Their best CD is probably The Photo Album though. or maybe even The Stability EP (i forgot what CD "stability" was re-released on)..
The Postal Service is great to me because of Jenny Lewis being in most of the songs, as I love Rilo Kiley.

Interesting to see so many blah comments on "We have the Facts" it's generally considered to be their best album, but I never got into it like I did the others. And I've never heard the Photo Album. Another one to add to the list.
