guys i am thinking of buying a scale on ebay but there are so many of them and i dont know which one to buy ( anyone can give me an advice on a good scale ?

I dont think a 15lb scale would measure a 50lb package accurately. If it doesnt break that is.

well thats the point it depends what am i selling on ebay i sell a lot fo stuff and they weight diffrent some times i can sell a computer that i dont need or speakers or a dvd recorder all that junk and yes those sour skittles with M&M and tasty recess that melt in your mouth but i dont want to run to the post office to send the item i just want to buy a scale that i can trust

i was thinkings of buying the usps scale but i got scared what if it will more than 10LB ? will it work?

It's a 10 LB SCALE. Why else do you think they would give it such a clever name? It's already been stated, NO it wouldn't work with items over 10 lbs., and/or it would break.

did you ever think about getting on a scale take down what it says and then get on a scale with item? then just find out how much the item is?

Make sure you get a digital scale to get the exact weight because you dont want to piss off the wrong people when your weighing out your dime and 20 weed bags )

Whats wrong with a nice scale that sits in your bathroom? That'll weight past 200lbs. Then just pull it out from the bathroom when you need to quickly weight a package.

Here's how I'd do it

Get a scale that'll go to 20 or 25lbs. If it's more than 25lbs, get on your (decent quality) bathroom scale and weigh yourself. Hold the box and weigh yourself again. Calculate the difference and there you have it.

I have a decent bathroom scale that has .2lb intervals ;)
It will make almost no difference if it's 0.2 or 0.4 lbs, especially for USPS - both should cost about the same. I can weigh even .2lb packages, so I don't see why would you need a special scale for shipping stuff ;)

Have you actually used it? It may have .2lbs increments, but that doesn't mean that it's accurate to the .2lb, especially at lower amounts. Bathroom scales are made for weighing heavy objects (eg. humans).

I have used it, and so far I don't have any problems. When I print the shipping label, I double check in the mailroom it is the corect weight. So far the biggest difference was .1lb, which didn't have any effect on the shipping rate.

P.S. I have used it to weigh the camera I got from FreePay before I sold it on eBay. It was written that the package was 3.0lbs, and when I checked - it showed exactly 3.0lbs. I have used it to sell several books lately, and as I said I don't have any problems ;)
