I'm looking into a digital SLR.. anyone have any suggestions? I only want to hear from people who actually own one, or have used one a lot. I'm thinking of picking this one up

I would talk to TSJ or Compfreak. But from everything i know about cameras, Nikon and Canon seem to be the only way to go for the best quality.

My dad has a GORGEOUS Nikon dslr (I think its a step up from that one) and aside from the dismal LCD, its eeeexcellent.
The bidding on that has ended, though

I have heard so many good things about the Nikon. I would just like some input from someone who uses one regularly.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel and I love it. It doesnt work properly (water damage) but hopefully i can either get it fixed, or upgrade to the XT (compfreak has one) for around $800, the 20D, for around $1200-$1300 or the 5D, for around $3300.

id love to be able to afford both a Canon and Nikon, but id have to say if i could choose to get only ONE new camera, id go for a Canon.

Theres a site called dpreview.com (probably the best digital camera site and forum) and I was helping compfreak out before he got his XT. dpreview said that the cameras in that price range ($600-$1100) at the moment in order of best to last goes like this

350d -> d50 -> d70s -> 300d

mine is at the end of the scale, but i got mine when none of the others were out yet.

Canon have a shitload more lenses than Nikon do, and are generally regarded as the best camera manufacturer in the world.

here is the link to the quetion i asked for compfreak

hope that helps somewhat.
