i don't think that is going to work though because there is a link above this thread that leads to a driver that somebody made to make IPODS work on Win 98 and 98 SE operating systems

i remember windows 98. back when i had an nec computer with a 4gb hdd. microsoft will almost always have the drivers. you can also try apples support site.
