watercooling is sexy looking. it can also be expensive. i bought a thermaltake silence cpu cooler for my amd63 3500+ and two zalman aluminum coolers that are pretty quiet for my 6800gt's

nice, most likly i am going to buy a watercooling kit still doing research and get some ram motherboard harddrive and a cpu then that will be 500$ easy and when ever i get a job complete it with a video card.

Watercooling kits are for suckers, and watercooling is only good if you know how to overclock. You can build your own for 100$, it is not that expensive.

Get a 3000+ Venice s939, with one 7800 GTX, or GT. Get a DFI Ultra-D s939 mobo, and a 300gig SATA II NCQ Maxtor 10 Diamondmax. Any case will work, but dont go overkill with a loud full tower 150$ one. Midtower 40$ ones are fine. Get a enermax 535w PSU, 90$ but you shouldnt buy any less. Get the artic silver cleaning kit and like 2 grams of AS5 (artic silver 5) thermal grease.

DONT GO SLI OR X2 PERIOD(.)

The 3000+ Venice on stock HSF (heat sink and fan) can clock to 260 + HTT (reg 200 so 30% OC). Also get the OCZ VX DDR500 ram, to complement your OCd CPU. That ram can do tight timings at DDR520 ).

Get the GTX, CPU doesnt matter much but GPU DOES.

Buy all this at the same time, it is cheap. 665$ w/o GPU, and 1095$ with GPU.

artic silver 5 is good stuff. i have been using the same tube on two computers now on both the gpu and cpu. my cpu temps are always in the lower 30's (celcius) and my gpus are just a little bit above that. i am thinking about selling my 6800gt's to get a 7800gtx but the thing is just so damn expensive.

The only reason i am getting water cooling is to overclock. I have a over clocked pc now.

I was gong to get the AMD Venice too. I know i can overclock those badboys and save my self some money. I guess I will just get what i need frist then last thing is to get watercooling. thanks for the advice I will most likly get what you wait other then the power supply b/c i have one allready that is not to old that is good.

or you can just overclock ur shit and pray it doesnt burnout....and if it does, return that shit for warentee. )

ive done that 4x now with my petium 4 2.4ghz, i clocked it 75% ...anything over and it burns out super fast. heh

The DFI Lanparty Ultra-D is the best OCing mobo, and runs on the nforce 4 chipset. It can go up to 4v on the DRAM, so you can OC your RAM really high. No other board can do that. The board requires a 24pin native adapter, not a 20-24pin adapter, and at least 450w. If you get a GTX I would say def get the 535w. It has a dual 12v rail with 34a on it, nice PSU. You also need to get a RAM fan, but thoose are only 10$.

I am not a fan of buying a watercooling system to save money. Because the CPU doesnt matter much, unless you encode a lot of movies then I can see the point ). Encoding is soley based on CPU power though.

x300 for the win D.

Well as of now this is what i am going to get, The motherboard is the only thing i am not sure i am going to get i have to do some research

motherboard
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135203
CPU
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103533
RAM
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145440
CPU fan
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106061

That will be close to 500$ and that is why i am getting from a free site. Then with my job money and some stuff i am selling on e-bay i will get a nice video card most likly the 7800 then will take the case/dvd/and harddrives from my old pc and use them tell i can get new ones.

28-09-2005 11:56:05

Ah man, I think those are horable choices \. ECS is cheap, and Corsair ram isnt very good, it doesnt even show the whole lat. The fan is not a xp-120 HS or xp-90. That is what you need if you really want upgraded cooling, which you absolutely do not need.

Mobo
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813136152
Can mod to SLi if you want to go SLi later, all you need to do is trace a jump to two wires

CPU
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103537

RAM
http//www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227206

455$, and you can upgrade to the Venice 3500 if you want to, I am not sure how well that OCs.

Ahh, I just got my computer. I researched for about a month before I bought the stuff. It took forever and that is basically my computer that I suggested to you above. I am running on stock HSF, and instead of the ram I got the Value version of that. At the time the ram was 100$ more, and the value was only 105$. But the value is now not the same IC as the ram I posted so the ram above is the best OC ram out.

Well i need 2 greens by the 30th for orderpcs4free.com and i will make it so i will get paid 500$ the 20th of next month so i will have some time to research only thing that will be a problem is the video card. I have the money for the cpu/ram/motherbaord/cpu fan but the video card i dont have the money for as of now. If i get this job i most likly will have the money and may have to take some money from my bank account. I really need a new pc and i use to be a big pc gamer then the new games started to come out and my pc could not play the so i slowly stoped playing them(other then quake 3) I should be ready for any game for some time. Thanks for your help I will look into that motherboard i will most likly get what you said to get b/c they are most likly great choices and i will just overclock that 3000+ to get more speed for my money. Now i just have to find money some how for the video card i am thinking about teh 7800 But that will set me back. IDK yet i have 20 days to think about it. I mod xboxs so i may try to mod some xboxs and get some money that way, but its not in high demand b/c of xbox 360 comming out.

I have the same problem, I need 750$ for a Dell 2405 LCD 24". I really really want it, but need to save more. I am going to sell my freeipodnano, and then do some casino sites until I get the 750$. I have a job at Kroger that I want to quit, and it gives me a little income. Working at Krogers was a mistake.

dfi lanparty boards are hit or miss. it wouldnt recognize any of my ram. i had to send it back because it was defective and ended up getting an asus a8n-sli deluxe.

Allen626

28-09-2005 12:54:05

You had corsair ram? DFI Lanparty boards require a lot of technological experience, and someone who already has overclocked before can usually conjure it up. They are by far the best mobo out for the tech hobbiest, or overclocker.

28-09-2005 12:55:51

yea i have 1gb of corsair rand 512mb of kingston. i tried both (not at the same time) and it just wouldnt go to bios.

Allen626

28-09-2005 12:58:15

DFI has a problem with Corsair, and kingston just isnt a good ram maker. Corsair ram is usually subpar so it isnt that bad of a thing. I really like DFI boards, and probaly wont buy another when there is a oppurtunity to get a DFI in the future. I got mine, and then when my friends built there computers they got them too and we have never had a problem.
