I live in College Station TX, we are gonna be hit by this bad boy saturday. I'll be floating down university drive with my 30 pack. Maybe drop by best buy and get me a free ipod, I dunno.

Supposed to be worse than Katrina, and the third worst ever recorded in Atlantic. Whats up with the natural disasters this year? First tsunami, then these last two hurricanes

Seriously though it's supposed be around a level 1 when we get hit, we are about 90 min northwest of houston. I was supposed to go to Austin tomorrow for the austin city limits music festival[=http//www.aclfest.com]austin city limits music festival. We'll see if that happens, as traffic down 290 is backed up so bad they are gonna have to open it up on the opposing side to get people out of houston.

Anyways if you don't hear from me in like 4 days, it's not cause i'm a scammer, it's because the hurricane may have affected our power and internet, maybe even our apartment.

sha316 and mneipert also go to school here with me.

think global warming is causing the climate shift and producing a lot of hurricanes and cyclones worldwide. You mustve seen a day after tomorrow. Funny seemed like they were exaggerating in the movie. Well anyways I wouldnt want be be caught in any hurricane even if it is only a cat 1. Just leave man dont be a super hero. Although not having you online for a few days maybe a good thing ;)

not trying to start a debate or anything but it is because of the republicans. they care more about homosexuals having sex or not than the ice caps melting. just my opinion.

Why would you make a statement like that if you're not trying to start a debate?

I live in a suburb on the southside of Houston, near Galveston. And we are going to get rammed by the storm. I drove up to Austin with my parents yesterday at 2pm and got here at 9pm. I just called my other friend that was coming up to Austin too, he left at 10pm and is not even out of Houston totally, coming up to Katy now. That is 13 hours in the car and not even 1/3 of the way to his destination.

This storm blows quite literally.

college station is quite aways away (~1 1/2 - 2hrs) from houston which is right by galveston so i dont think you will be affected that much.

I'd say that the blame can be laid on ignorance.

Good, the Hurricane is now a Cat 4, and will probaly degrade to Cat 3 by land fall. It will also not hit Galveston, and Galveston will only be on the wet side ^^. Im happy because my house should be far enough in to avoid the storm surge ). Looks like New Orleans is going to get smacked again (.

Oh yeah and since im in Austin I have seen a AMD building and a Intel job fair coming soon ^^. A lot more technology up here ).

ahh this is all part of the evil plan ot make oil ridiculously expensive to improve sales on solar cars. i didnt think the car companies would go this far

gas is going to be like 3.20$ for regialre gas the hurricane is going liek right thru the oil rigs and jsut tear them apart

i wish you luck i was suppsoed to go to new orleans next month to visit a freind found out flight was canceled the other day and now i guess my new flight will be cancled as well due to this storm tearing stuff apart again. the people on the highway in new orleans arent going to do to well during this storm. if it does hit new orleans again

If the storm regains its power we're looking at a pretty serious tropical depression up here, although we haven't had rain in awhile so I'm all for it. Good luck to all coastal Texans and anyone who's still left in LA.

Watch me make that statement and have my street get hit with a tornado or something, karmas a bitch.

We're in texas our homes don't have basements.

We've got our water, our beer, not really too much food. I bought a new set of strings for my acoustic, I think we'll be alright

I just arrived in New Braunfels, TX from my home in suburban Houston, halfway between Houston and Galveston. It took 14 hours and it would otherwise take 3-4. Some of my friends left our area late last night and are barely getting out of the city limits. That's 20 hours PLUS in the car.

The scary part about the trip is the fact that there is pretty much no gasoline left anywhere in the city. It's unbelievable; I've never seen nor heard of ANYTHING like this.

Yeah I was watching some footage on TV. They were talking about the gas problem and how they should call in help. Its nuts
