Has anyone done this? I know of one person that did it and did not get credit and they took $20 for domain name registration. $20 doesn't seem so bad if that's all you have to pay for an offer of doom. Anyone else give this one a shot yet?

uhh you don't just get a domain, you have to buy HOSTING.
and jtlyk ix webhosting is the #1 host at a lot of review sites. so if you really want some hosting, it's a great idea.

I know but I guess you can get a refund for the hosting part but not the $20 domain name registration. I could use some hosting myself but that won't do me any good on my macmini site.

IX webhosting is a decent host for me. But probably expensive for you. we had one account with them and they seemd very security saavy people and service also was ok.

I did the other webhosting offer for someone, and it cost me about 40 bucks, including a domain and a month of hosting. Bloody rip off if you ask me, but its cheaper than a casino
