I just lost my hard drive....help please

well, I turn on my external HD and it says that it cannot be read. So i decide to restart the computer, in the middle of the restart, the pc decides to search my HD and delete files at it's choice.
I ended up losing my entire "Incoming Torrents" folder, which had nearly all of my music....videos...most of my apps (.iso's and such), and much more.
Well, luckily I updated my iPod before the HD crash, and I need another iPod to PC application to transfer the music on my iPod to my PC. I used to use [u472225024e]CopyPod[/u472225024e], but the trial ranout and I couldn't find a crack for it.
[i472225024e]Any help would be greatly appreciated.[/i472225024e]

Try http//www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/
gotta "purchase" it before you can really use it though, but you can transfer back and fourth on the trial.

strange thing is...everything else on the HD was recovered fine, but I lost the one folder that had everything I used/needed the most in it.

I just used my ipod to tranferer all my songs to my new computer. I use WinAmp anyways, and they have a plug in called mLpod that syncs your ipod. It can go both ways. If you want it, go to www.winamp.com , install winamp, then download the pluging from winamp homepage.

I actually once saw this once on iPodhacks.com
If you have a Windows formatted iPod and want to copy the music from it to your HD, or another iPod, here's what you do
Connect the iPod.
Start iTunes (if you don't have it set to autostart on iPod detection already)
Go to My Computer and click on the iPod drive.
Right click on iPod_Control and choose Properties.
Then unclick "Hidden", and choose "Apply"
Make sure "Apply Changes to this folder, subfolder, and files" (second choice)
Then click OK.
Then click OK again.
You'll see the iPod_Control folder isn't transparent now.
Click it, then click Music.
Either highlight all the folders with the mouse, or press Crtl+A on your keyboard.
While highlighted, drag the entire contents (all the folders) over to iTunes, and drop them on Library.
If you want to directly clone the contents to another iPod
If you have a second iPod connected at the same time (make sure both are recognized in iTunes), highlight all the Library tracks, and drag them to the second iPod.
If you want to backup to HD
Choose or create a folder to store the contents. (Like My Music etc etc)
Open that folder.
Highlight all the tracks in the iTunes Library, and drag them over to it.
That's basically it. It's so easy that I slapped myself for not figuring it out a long time ago.
By the way, all the instructions apply to Windows XP, so variations may be necessary for Win 2000, Millenium, '98 etc.
I'm not even sure what the process is for a Mac...

You can easily extract music from an ipod without any extra software as well, just unhide folders and dig through. iTunes does a nice job organizing them
