How long do you think it will be till stores besides Apple will be selling the iPod Nano? I bought one off of ebay from an Official Apple Reseller on the 7th of September but it hasn't shipped yet and I'm wondering when he will actual receive his shipment of Nanos to ship out to his buyers ( me). The Nano looks awesome. D

I hate ebay sellers that sell stuff before they have it in hand.

I know that they have been shipping already, but only from the apple store. I'm wondering when apple resellers will be selling the Nano, such as Best Buy, Circuit City, or Amazon.

Some brick and mortar stores are already selling them, they may have sold out though. But apparently only a small percentage of available ipod nanos sold out over the last week. So look around!

My local best buy told me on Sunday that they're hoping for a shipment within two feet.

any smart eBay seller would not even bother having Apple ship them to the eBay seller and use Apple like a drop-shipper and have ship directly to the buyer.

I'm going to be looking around this weekend. The closest apple store to me is downtown chicago, and I don't want to make the drive. I want to play with one to calm my nerves until I get mine for phr33.

Apparently, Nano sales are off to a slow start.
They should be available in regular stores by now.

That's surpising. Do you think that's because most folks who who own an iPod already have one, and the Nano isn't that impressive, or hasn't been marketed as such?
That article suggests a price cut of $50 to get sales moving - I would think that would torpedo the Mini alltogether. Who would buy a bigger, heavier, hard-drive based iPod that cost $50 more than a Nano?

I asked this in another thread but haven't gotten an answer yet, I figure I put it here as well...
Does anyone know how long (number of writes) the flash memory in the nano will last? Is this a dramatic difference from the typical life of a hdd, say from a 20 gig photo ipod? I remember when usb thumbdrives were becoming popular there was always warning about how flash memory can only be written to x number of times before it becomes useless. Should this be a concern when picking between a nano and a 20 gig photo?

i think it is just the marketing. i have only seen one nano commercial. i remember when the shuffle came out they were advertising like crazy with that The Caesars song. "Hit me up, lock me down and watch me go."

100,000 rewrites or so. Won't effect you in the lifetime of your nano.
