Legislators are passing a bill, when accepted will prompt vendors to deny selling any videogames to minors, if a vendor ex " Best Buy " sells a video game to a minor, they will get a $500 fine and the minors are from 17-lower from age. What you think about this?

Any game or just mature rated.

That's retarded.. that's what I think. I've always been able to buy games that were violent and I'm under-age.

I will agree with this law, since that's pretty much the law anyways.

You have to be 17 to rent rated M and R, and so forth.

Im over that age, so I dont mind ;)

(im in CA, by the way)

The law says the store will be fined if sold to minors and all the the M rated games have to have a some type warning label on them. It still has to be passed by Arnold.

Not sure if that will be too big of a deal, if some kid wants the game they probably will just ask someone to get it for them. (I live in cali also)

its basically just a kick in the arse to get the store owners/cashiers to the job they are supposed to do anyway.

considering i was buying R movies and PA cd's when i was in elementary, i dont think it will stop people. the first PA cd i bought was the Slim Shady LP in the 4th grade in like 1996 or something. you dont see me walking around chopping bitches heads off or anything stupid like that. the bill is rediculous, but knowing scwartznigger he will probably pass it.

Its a law as much as going to R rated movies is. The theatres police themselves, there is no law saying that you cant attend a R rated movie if you are under 17, the theatres just card you for shits and giggles. Some stores already wont sell to 16 year old violent video games, like walmart.

Its a fine law, Cali is a liberal state so I can see this easily passing the governator. It does not enfringe on anybodies rights, if you want a video game you ask your parents to buy it for you.

Nobody around here cares, because I look 17 and they're only getting $8 an hour anyways. Its the same for movies.

At first they will probaly push the issue in cali. Make a check photo id thingy, and they may even send people in to try to buy vid games like they do liquor and cigs.

Its not video games that make kids the way they are maybe if parents get off there ass and STOP trying to find something to blam there kids problems on stuff the world would be a better place.

Well, its basically M or AO rated games they are trying to pass the law for. I think they should do this, im sick and tired of parents blaming companies for their child's behavior

I work at a movie theatre...I let people in, but if they kinda bug me I'll card them

ninja28

12-09-2005 20:16:52

haha, interesting. Did you read my post^ parents suing companies for their child's actions, but these parents know what was in the video game, isn't that greed and stupid ?

halfbreed

12-09-2005 20:24:35

Greed makes the world go round.

ninja28

12-09-2005 20:31:24

yeah, but will it help stop the violence these idiot kids are doing these damn days? I dont freaking think so. If parents actually paid attention to what their child was playing, then there would be less deaths these damn days.

12-09-2005 20:33:35

jeez. if you want a game that much get it on gametz.com. im under 17 and i use it. i just let my parents know before i buy/trade for something. i even have feedback! D

ninja28

12-09-2005 20:36:43

not teens, im aiming it at kids aged 12-6. I wouldnt say anything if a kid aged 14-17 would buy a game because they pretty much how the world works, heh.

halfbreed

12-09-2005 20:38:38

6-12 you mean? lol But yeah...I forgot what I was going to say...shit

/me stops and thinks

Oh yeah I wonder if people are going to start using fake IDs to get video games now too.

ninja28

12-09-2005 20:41:30

lol, I dont think people in CA would be tricked by a fake id, we have that special label thingy, it would be nice to see kids go to juvenile, that would teach them D BRATS!

halfbreed

12-09-2005 20:44:18

Oh yeah I forgot about the special label thingy, a fake ID would never work... lol

ninja28

12-09-2005 20:48:59

But anyways, I am hoping that ' Mr.Terminator ' would pass this law to ensure the vendors would get their ass kicked if they sold a minor a violent video game, $500 dollah! BAM! right on their ass!
