Being that it is 9/11, I thought I'd make a post in memory of not only those lives lost in the 9/11 attacks...but every life lost as a result of the "War on Terrorisim." Sometimes I think we fail to appreciate life itself, and take for granted the liberties so many other people aren't so lucky to have.

When we said we will never forget, they were trying to tell them self that they will not forget and by doing that the people that died really did not die they are still with us b/c we did not forget. this is why alot of times familys fight over someones death like not paying there half b/c as long as they dont do that he is still with them b/c there remembered.

Just talked to my mom who was trying to fly standby out of Minneapolis... she had to get up early to take a 6am flight because the flights today are so packed. I'm saying this to prove a point that America is resilient and 4 years after 9/11/2001 our airplane industry is not dead as some predicted but will continue to thrive.

I'd also like to point out, not politically, that Osama Bin Laden has still evaded capture... I certainly do not believe in our Intelligence industry as much as I did on 9/10/2001.

Peace

But, believe it or not, different people have different opinions on 9/11, how it happened, what is happening about it, and the errors of our government. I just think it's kind of unfair for you to say what you think and not let people debate it.. but oh well.

I guess he won't see this right now anyways, but the obvious point of this post was just to remember the people who have lost their lives. Whatever the reason behind the losses, thousands are gone and even more thousands have been affected by the absence of spouses, parents, children, friends. Just take a moment to reflect.

Oh and about the civil liberties taken for granted - if you want specifics, there are /tons/ of examples. Several dozen countries in Africa alone do not have the right to vote for their own political officers. Different groups of people are forced to live under different "rules" simply because they are of another nationality, race, religion, etc. It could go on and on.

You understand what she says, yet I don't understand what you do.

You say "Would you like to elaborate on that?"

You ASKED me to elaborate, and say what I had to say.

Then, you ban me for it.

If you didn't ask me to say it, I wouldn't have.

Here we go again - that's exactly what FON wanted to avoid in this thread.

Can we [b96774b2ce1]PLEASE[/b96774b2ce1] stay on subject here? Although I'm not born in the US, I feel for all the people who were affected by the tragedy. And no matter how unlikely it sounds to some (people outside these forums of course), people around the world do care, and feel compassion about the victims.

They're showing a good movie tonight 9pm Eastern (as far as I remember) on Discovery Channel - [i96774b2ce1]The flight that fought back[/i96774b2ce1]. Should be a good film in the memory of these people.

The deaths that come from the assault on 9-11 are high, and should be memorilized. Not only the troops that fought but the thousands of innocent civilians that died because of the warfare. Every day in Iraq now the death toll is high, and peace does not seem forthcoming after many failed tries. The death toll will just increase, and for that I grieve.

I dont even want to think of the future of human kind, when the major political powers has the ability to destroy the earth, sometimes many times over. That power is ridiculous. I can see nothing but total annihilation in the near future.

Sept. 11 is a time to remember the innocent civillians that perished on that horrific day. The men, women, children that served our county in the most honorable way. Sept. 11 is NOT a time to demonstrate protest against the United States Government. So please, just pray for the families and friends of the victim's to be okay.

Blah, that video has been posted a billion times. Maybe not that EXACT video, but one so similiar that im just going to say it is. A slide show of images from the WTC. The thing that gets emailed to you by 16 year old kids in there free time. It is usually done by the ignorant also, for some reason they lap that stuff up.

I like this (http//abum.com/?show_media=8523&file_type=Movies&file_id=long_shot.wmv) video that my friend just showed me. Antitank sniper taking out taliban forces hiding on a mountain.

Looking at images of the WTC and remembering the damage and pain inflicted on that day is only done by 16 yr olds and the ignorant?

Im sorry, I dont know about you but every week either my mom or me will get a email from some random person saying follow this chain on. And it will be a movie about all the people that died at 9/11. I am of course sadend by the attack against America, but it just gets ridiculus. There is no need to send this flashes. We all understand it was a horable tragedy yahhata yahhata yahata. I guess it is just that the little kids finally see it hit there country or something, like this could never happen to THEM.

I suppose it is just them breaking out of there own naivete, and them coping with it by sending the link to there friends. And some will probaly get caught up into it, and think it is cool to be sad about it and send it around. A peer pressure of sorts.

I pick up on all the subtle issues and make my feelings up with thoose issues. It is hard to explain nontelepathically my whole feelings, hard to write them down into this text box. But I feel I have explained myself decently enough. I would never have this coversation in real life unless I was with friends I could trust with a open mind. Many people shut out things like this the minute they hear them. Blind faith, it is human nature. Religion is really hard to discuse, even with close friends that you have known since you where in 7th grade it is not a subject easily approached. People just wont open up to other relgions no matter what.

William Blake hit this in his Poems of Innocence and Experiance. It is really good poetry, you should read it sometime if you have not already in school.

I appreciate the sentiment of having this thread, but this topic [i3187511a7e]always[/i3187511a7e] leads to expressions of political opinion. It's like moths to a flame. (

Personally, I think the best way to honor those who were lost, is to repeat the acts of solidarity that followed the attacks by again helping your fellow Americans down south.
