Im trying to track a package at USPS.com and when i put in the number it gave me this description
Status Electronic Shipping Info Received
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on September 09, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.
Anyone know what this means?

Umm, it means that they received electronic information regarding the shipment, but that the shipment hasn't been picked up for shipping yet.
At least, that's what I liTHINKli it says.

Don't worry about it. I shipped something on Tuesday, the person told me they got it yesterday, while the USPS tracking still tells me exactly what you posted above. USPS tracking is not as good as FedEx, UPS, etc...

No, like I said, it could have been delivered or at least on its way and it will still say the same thing. The status will be updated after delivery but there's usually a lag (like in my example). USPS "tracking" should only be used for delivery confirmation, not actual tracking of the item. I only used to get tracking info when there were stopovers in other towns.
I used to sell a lot on ebay and ship through USPS so this is fro experience.
