it's better to control in your pocket that way, also better for hanging on your neck, better on an arm band... the only way it isn't better is when you're holding it upright, and it's not that big of a deal then. i think moving the headphone is a smart move.

li Interface has a refined look--not major but tighter--more square; elapsed time/total time of track on either side of meter.
li You can now organize playlists in folders.
li Convenient search bar--in your search query, you can hit a tab to find just All/Music/Audiobooks/Podcasts, then Albums/Songs, and so on. You'll see this in Music Store too.
li Microsoft Outlook syncing with iPod--autosyncing out of Outlook and Outlook express (Windows only).
li Smart shuffle--"make it less random" so that you're more or less likely to hear same artist.
li Album reviews--1,000 new iTunes reviews.
li Parental controls--restrict explicit content, disable sharing/podcasts.
li New releases--you can see all new releases using tabbed-based section; we like this a lot.

i can sorta justify my owning a mini and a photo since i had (failed) plan to play all of my music off the photo. i use the mini everyday, though. for me, wanting the nano isn't really justifiable... but i still want it. i might start doing free sites again just to get one if someone makes a site for them.

It is pretty cute. The size of it really doesn't matter to me though, because I will still slap a case on it, making it more bulky anyway.
I'm using an almost brand new green 6GB iPod Mini and I don't have the urge to really 'downgrade' (4GB is just too small for me).
I'll be more excited when they upgrade the space, which surely won't be long, Apple seems to work very quickly...
