One was a Marriot or Holiday Inn, can't quite remember.
It was like $240 after tax for two nights.

The other place was a cabin-esque place in the middle of the woods.
That was years ago, but I'm sure there are still comprable places.

My wifes' parents live in the Poconos so we visit there regularly.

Tis quite nice. Certainly a relief from the madness that is the DC metro area.

Anyone have a good site on things to do there, etc? Or Jake or Godrockdj, would either of you mind telling me about it? I'd like to take my wife out there sometime.

The Crossings Outlet Mall - Tannersville, PA - This is a really well known outlet mall.

Bushkill Falls - Bushkill, PA
Pocono Raceway(NASCAR race track) - Near Tobyhanna, PA
Camelback Mountain- Tannersville, PA

Stroudsburg, PA is a really nice town to visit and wander around. They have various events there throughout the year. For example, this past weekend was the Garlic Festival. Other weekends, there are other events. There is a farmer's market in Stroudsburg every weekend also.

I don't know of any websites off hand but I am sure that they are out there....

Just a few suggestions for now. )

BACK!

What a [i837bc23858]wonderful[/i837bc23858] vacation! 3 days of beautiful, perfect weather. Oh and we paid nothing for our stay - a good friend of mine's parents have a camp trailer in a giant campground community. It's called Eagle Lake. So we stayed and got back in touch with nature ) Well, as much as anyone really can these days.

We went swimming in the pool, tanned by the manmade beach by the lake, canoeing, basketball, hiking through the woods, got some roaring campfires going... Just so relaxing and beautiful. And all of that was within the community itself! On our way home today my husband and I stopped at the above mentioned outlets for some window shopping. There are lots of festivals and stuff always going on in the area but we didn't really research that before we left. Awesome time!

I used to get all my school clothes from the Outlets while coming back from my cabin...

Back when my parents helped a brotha out.

If you want to get back to nature, go to northern Ontario, Canada and stay at a provincial park. There, you will experience real silence and calm. The main difference between the poconos and northern Ontario is that the poconos has traffic jams and northern Ontario doesn't. Therefore, there are less people to deal with, etc etc etc.

Glad you enjoyed your trip though! )
