Well, just keep reading and posting!
Every time you load a page, there's a 1 in 500 chance that you'll get a free code, donated by JOSHBOX.
He's donated 48 so far. As of now (1114pm 8/31) there are 28 left.
There are a couple limitations, though
1) you must be logged in
2) you must have at least 50 posts
3) you have won no more than 1 time before (eg. limit 2 per person)
Please don't hammer the server, though. Or if you have to, pick a simple page like a user's profile.
You'll know you won, because you'll get a big fat javascript alert with your code in it. Don't worry if you accidentally hit enter. I can retrieve it.

Popup blocker doesn't matter. 1 in 500 is pretty unlikely though! That's probably why you haven't won.
