As a project on the side, to showcase my hobby and hopefully make a little money off of it, I put together a site (with a lot of help from Fugger) to sell some of my photos.

http//www.michphoto.com

I hope to make enough to buy a nice SLR eventually..

You bastard they all say $5 makes you think thats the price lol. Then I see the real prices, I was going to buy some too... ?

It's $5 for the 3"x5", more for the larger size prints.. Lemme know if there are any you are interested in, I'd be willing to sell em to FIPG members for a couple bucks more than it costs me.

Nice stuff you have there. However, it might be beneficial to you to lower the prices a bit. 5.00 for a photo is pretty outrageous. Also, does Webshots buy pictures from independent photographers? If so you might want to give that a shot.

Gah... double post. (

hehehhehe

There's a small bug with firefox. When you click "click to enlarge" the window stays small and you have to manually enlarge it.

Good luck with your new site!

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I will drop the price for 3x5's to $2 or $3 a piece.

thanks geej86. I was lucky enough to be crossing the bridge on my way to Marquette that day, and after we crossed, my wife looked back and was like "wow... that would make a nice picture"

slow your shuter speed to maybe 1/2 second or 1 full second on the waterfall shots - they'll turn out real nice )

of course you'd probably have to raise your f-stop as well

[u55a54059b2]Aperature[/u55a54059b2]
In photography, the camera lens opening and its relative diameter. Measured in f-stops, such as f/8, f/ I 1, etc. As the number increases, the size of the aperture decreases, thereby reducing the amount of light passing through the lens and striking the film.
www.ackland.org/tours/classes/glossary.html

f-stop. A numerical designation (f/2, f 2.8, etc.) indicating the size of the aperture (lens opening).

So have you considered selling your photos to sites like Webshots? Do they buy from independent photographers?

CollidgeGraduit

01-09-2005 14:07:57

They buy from independent photographers, but it looks like their requirements are an insanely high resolution... which I won't be able to provide until I get a new camera and take more pics P
