Why was there a buyer's dispute? What happened?

it was a scam involving a buyer from australia, and having the item shipped to california, etc...

Haha.
But seriously, I'm very pleased to see she has to PAY. Good job.
Doesn't paypal pocket the loss on that one?

if you file a dispute with someone, and win, and they dont have any cash in their account, paypal will pay you out of their own pocket.
notcie when you buy an item you can select "purchase paypal protection policy for $2.17 for this item".
Kinda like reallly overpriced insurance.

i thought their account just went negative
that's what happened to me when they forced the money back at first

I am absolutely stunned. You may be the only one in the world to have beaten a paypal chargeback.
<waiting for wood to chime in with "I beat 13 paypal chargebacks?!?one one 1">
Seriously Congratulations.

I wish I had luck like that. I could really use my 450.00 bucks back from paypal.
I'm guessing the buyer wasn't at a confirmed address... Did you receive any emails from paypal saying that the matter was closed and you lost? Or have you been waiting all this time for a resolution.

whatever happened with yours?
Both gift cards were shipped to confirmed addresses with delivery confirmation (thank god).
Aboout a week after they sold, the first payment of $47 was revoked.
The next day the second payment of $48 was revoked.
Paypal claimed the monies were fraudulent (I guess the buyers stole credit cards or something), which meant I had to prove that i really shipped them (seems backwards to me. buyers fucked up - they should have to pay).
I emailed paypal all the information they requested, about 2 weeks later I was notified that I was DENIED on both counts.
I emailed them back with a "Uh...wtf....?" type-email and two days later I got a response saying they were going to reinvestigate.
A week later I was $96 richer again D

^ So basically don't just sit on your ass and cry about it, keep emailing them to see if it can be resolved.
I guess even listing in your auction that you'll only ship to confirmed addresses doesn't even help you.

But if you say money order only you don't get many bidders =(
I really hate paypal for what they did to me, but it's just so effective to sell stuff on ebay.
