What is the best ideal computer set up for $600- $1000?

Case
Motherboard
Processor
Memory
Video Card
Sound Card
Hard Drive
CD-RW/DVD-RW Drive

Let me know if I left anything else out. If you want you can do monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. P

true. i only use headphones (sennheiser hd-55 or hd-150 or something like that) so i only need something decent. really depends on what you are going to use the pc for.

Just for everyday use. Maybe some webdesign, some php, asp, photoshop, graphic design, some video editing maybe. Some gaming, but nothing intensive.

well which speaker system? If your not going to get a $100+ speaker system then stick with onboard sound.

AMD Athlon 3200+ are decently priced right now

If I were to get a 100+ speaker system which one would you recommend?

Edit Yeah I realize with the video card it also depends on the monitor.

Hum

I'd have to say the Logitech Z-5300, as much as i disapprove of Logitech speakers i think in the 100 range that would be acceptiable. If you have around $250-$300 get the Klipsch Promedia Ultra, i own those and i can speaker for how good they are.

Now soundcard wise, you can get the Audigy 2 Zs for a good price now, partially cuase the Sound Blaster X-FI is on its way to being fully released.
