Need opinon - Who is at fault?

I am currently in a trade with a member on this forum.

We agreed on a trade my 3604free for his notebooks4free.

He went green on my 360, and I promptly signed up for his notebooks4free, only to find out the offers were THE OFFERS OF DOOM.

This user neglected to mention the offers were not regular ones, but the hard $50+ offers.


This person is now acting like I am a liar, because I want to readjest the trade because he didnt tell me they were offers of doom (not hard to overlook).

We agreed upon me just paying him for the site, but i'm kinda ticked I went yellow for nothing.

who is at fault, me for not thinking its a fair trade, or him for not telling me it was an offer of doom?

I don't think anyone is at fault, but that it was a misunderstanding and you two will need to work out a compromise to remedy the situation.

Clearly the other trader is at fault...thats not something minor that someone could just neglect to mention. There is a [ic18b9e1610]slight[/ic18b9e1610] chance he/she didn't know, but in most cases if someone failed to mention the "offers of doom," they did so purposely.

I would have to lean a bit more in wood's favor here because it isnt his responsibility to know what offers you have available, I think Pete should have mentioned that detail as it is extremely important cuz needing 7.00 to complete an offer is alot different from needing 50.00+ to do an offer if anything i say a fair resolution is Pete pay the difference for the offer and wood keep his money for the ref then that way it will really be even and wood doesnt have to waste a yellow.

The buyer is obviously going to assume the BMW is in GOOD working condition if he is buying it for $24k

I guess I just have too much faith in humans to do what is right.

Well, it's still the buyer's responsibility to look into the actual condition of the car. Would you pay for a car without at least giving it a test drive? Asking for proper work documentation? Of course not.

I don't think that means Pete is right. I think if you're entering a trade knowing that all you have left are the offers of doom, it's pretty dishonest to not inform the other trader, but that doesn't mean you can rip on people for disagreeing with you. The adage isn't "let the seller beware."

I mean not to be mean but Pete is Russian and I have a hard time understanding him as it is. If I were in this trade with Pete I wouldve asked him like 10 times whther it was an offer of doom. After ghetting a no I wouldve3 asked him 10 x more and even gotten a dude who speaks russian to confirm. You never did this and I have to question your motive, especially since your 100+. Now before you bash me remember that I should clearly be going at Pete in this thread since we had our own mishaps.

Thought I had more points but I guess that covers it. From my own experience I know that once a green is agreed upon theres little that can be done to satisfactorily change the conditions of the trade. I had to do minicool4free for jonny eventhough you pointed them out as chanmging owners and unreliable. I eventually got myself out of doing that site but the fact still remained that users believed (Jonny as well) felt I should do the site that I originally areed to regardless of ownership change and unreliability. Therefore Im extra caustious in all my trades to know what offers to whcih site will be avialable. Not to bash you put its clearly obvious you neglected to do this. I dont want any analogies expalinging your sitaution either.

Lastly to show my unbiased opinion in this whole matter. Pete your at fault as well. Did you really think that Wood would do an offer of doom after you prolly did a free trial. Probably not so what was your motive in all of this.

Bottom line I dont have a resoltuion for either of you. The trade isnt worth the paper its written on so any possible redress is uncertain. Woods claim that he missed out on 75 is exaggerated and Im more than certain he can find a new ip and email address to signup on the site once again thereby not interfering with any so called potential future income. Looks like 25-30 for the site is fair and all tading activity and communication bw you two should cease

I think that about sums it up. You probably should have checked to find out if it was an offer of doom, but given the horrible reputation that OC sites now have, I think the burden is on the requester to state whether the OC site has doom offers or regular offers. However, prudence demands that you double check. Chalk it up to mutual mistake and work it out amicably.
