That's right. I've always tried to be at least a little bit democratic around here, and I think this is a good time to do this.
The poll is simple. Obviously both wood and sweeed can't both be mods at the same time. Many people are unhappy with the situation as it is. So I'm taking a poll. Whoever wins will be a mod, and whoever loses will not. I've temporarily raised the minimum number of posts required to vote in a poll to 50. I'm also logging every vote and will be happy to ban anyone who makes sock puppets to influence the outcome.
This poll will run for about 24 hours. Use this thread to discuss this, but

Pushing either rock down will have the same outcome, but one is a lot easier to push down then the other. (Being 50 yards closer).

Some decisions do have to be made internally, for various/obvious reasons. However, when something of this magnitude comes up and it cannot be resolved in an amicable way, then public opinion/poll is needed.

This is as FIXED as it gets.
He knew the outcome of this poll before he made it. As does every other member with a clue.
If he really cared, he would have got involved two weeks ago when this crap started. Instead, he ignores IMs and acts indifferent.
If I had a penny every time he lishrugli'd something off and basically said "work it out on your own" i'd have like $10.00 (thats 10,000 times btw)
It took a lot of strong words, a dozen locked threads, a lot of lost face for the forum, and an overwhelming sense of hate on the forum to get him involved.

I've had a lot on my plate these past couple months fusioncash (absolute shittons of coding work), all of my friends leaving for college (including my girlfriend). You're right. I am not 100% on how much of that is truth and what isnt but even you have admitted to some of it. I am completely lost and have no idea what or why... Both Wood and Sweeedfish seemed like good mods, but I see admin's point, I wouldn't want to feel like my managers needed hand-holding.
I do not think I would create a vote to see who I should keep. Instead I would fire the one who I thought was being less willing to work together... but that is why I always loose popularity contests and am not an owner of a very successful web forum.

well there is no doubt about it, you guys and sweedfish should try to work out an agreement, no one wants to mod up with people if you have to fight for the status. Wood I believe you when you say you didn't SAY that the image in your sig was aimed at sweedfish. However, it is PAINFULLY obvious that many people took it that way. Even sweedfish. Now, if you're the ONLY one that doesn't see that, then you didn't think that decision through.
I'm sorry that people are ganging up on you about a lot of things, but even the most imperfect of humans can find time to mock those who make mistakes. It's human nature. The best thing for you to do is to sit back, stop repeating yourself, and see what happens. I think the reason you're losing in the polls is because you're posts are defensive and people are turned off by that naturally. (I don't even know what the numbers are...are you THAT far behind??)
Sweed I really don't know what to say to you. You've been quiet (not silent, but you haven't posted THAT much that I've noticed) on the whole thing. You, like Wood, are defending yourself. Unlike Wood, you've been able to try harder to turn off the sarcasm. I commend you on that.
All in all, NO ONE IS PERFECT. And popularity sucks. A LOT of this has to do with popularity, and unfortuantely, it seems that sweedfish is more popular than Wood. It's the way of the world. It starts back in elementary school when you pick teams for dodgeball. The least popular kid is picked last. I know, I was ALWAYS picked last. )

i'm fine with wood being demodded ... if one doesn't do anything suspect whilst trading, then there is never any suspicion of scamming ... there has been tons of talk about wood's scamming people in trades, and i think the position of mod should be reserved for people who are going beyond reproach and making sure 1) they don't scam, and 2) others don't either

And if anyone is worried, I've disabled the polls module in the admin panel for everyonoe except me.
I'm going to make a record of the votes, save it on my computer, and delete the poll, then reenable the module.
