I'm thinking of getting one. Anyone here used one before and know if you can get your pump on with those rubber band things? I'm too lazy to go to the gym anymore. D

they are good but expensive
it's just a gimmick, i prefer freeweights but i also have a big machine that does more and cost 1/4 of the price of a bowflex
do what you want though idea

yeah but it's a lot easier to hurt yourself especially if you dont have a spotter
i've only seen one guy ever drop anything on himself and he just ended up with no fingertip.. that's all lol
he was squatting and fell over and dropped the bar on his finger and the rack

I got one....Its just setting in my parents room.. I did not pay for it. Go to the gym b/c if you dont you will be lazy and never use it. If you are at a gym you cant walk 10 feet and watch tv and eat chips.

my gym has tv's above every bike and treadmill. but anyways. go to the gym. the people who use the machines are mostly fatasses. the ones in the freeweights section know what theyre doing. i only use machines for my triceps. if you are going to get something from bowflex, get those freeweights where you turn the knob and it changes the weight.

i use the machines for leg presses because i hate squatting with my bum knee from football, and i also use it for the butterfly for my pecs (or lack thereof)

the free weight vs machine debate isn't as simple as 'free weights are harder, so they give you a better workout' ... free weights as everyone knows recruit the balance/stabilizer muscles during the exercise, as well as the main muscle groups ... but if you use a machine and ONLY work the main muscle groups, but still go to exhaustion/failure, you have more ATP and energy to work the bigger muscles, and will actually get bigger faster ... the question is whether you're looking to get stronger or bigger ... as for me i play basketball, so i don't have much need to get stronger, i just wanna get bigger so i look better lol
