My friend was installing a 3rd party cooling kit on his 9800 Pro and messed it up a bit. I was able to get it working but not fully. There is still some artifacting in windows and anything 3d is pretty much out of the question. Since its crap to him now he gave the video card to me. I thought maybe some of you advanced computer users might want to take a shot at ressurecting this video card. It is a 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro with a kingwin heatpipe cooler installed. If you want to work out a trade I am looking for freedesktoppc referrals. Even if you dont want the video card, the cooler can be taken off and put on any 5th or 6th generation video card I believe. It is the kingwin tri-fan heatpipe cooler, its worth at least 30$ alone. I have all the parts for the cooler but I dont have the stock fan for the video card -( Anyway, I dont know if this should be posted in the trading forum or here so if you want it maybe we could work out a deal. Send me a PM if interested -)

yeah windows runs but the loading screen is slightly artifacted and some programs do wierd things. From what little time i had it installed for, windows and web browsing was useable.

What did he do to it to get those artifacts.

I have no idea, the cooler is applied correctly now so it shouldnt be doing it, but I dont need the card and I dont want to waste any more time trying to ressurect it.

lol. Good luck trying to RMA a card after you take off the stock fan and heatsink. I dont even have the original fan so I couldnt make it look like nothing happened if i tried -/
