OK.

I'm going to hook up my ipod to my aux input. I know how to plug it in to my stereo and everything, but just one problem.

I have no idea how to get the wires from the back of the car stereo out of the side. Theres a hole under the glove compartment area, but no idea how to get it there.

Can someone help me? (the answer is probably really easy)

I also wanted to hook my iPod up to my stereo but I've been too afraid to cuz I know I will screw up my system somehow.

you could just reach one hand in the glovebox and one hand through the spot where the stereo goes and hope they meet, it worked on my car!

My friend knows how to do all of that and I'm getting a new SUV this year so I'm gonna take it up to his house in the mountains and we're gonna fix up all of that stuff.

We're gonna make a slot for an easy plug in for my HD player(iAudio X5L which rocks the iPod). I'm also gonna ad a mini screen that I have into it. And I'm gonna do a free site for a GPS. So I'll have my ride all pimped and fun. D And useful since I suck at directions..... oops oops oops

I just bought an Aiwa a year ago. The come with Aux inputs on the front so you can listen to stuff easily with $5 cord and your iPod.

Here is my setup

Pioneer In-Dash CD Player (DEH-P7700MP)[=http//www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pioneer-In-Dash-CD-Player-DEH-P7700MP-/sem/rpsm/oid/116335/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do]Pioneer In-Dash CD Player (DEH-P7700MP)

I'm very happy with it and the CDIB100 was a ridiculously easy install (basically plug and play, save for the fact that I had to splice into a power line as well as a ground line). Kind of pricey, but certainly worth it (not that I paid full price ;) ). Because I drive a 99 Taurus I also have a Metra Dash Kit and a Belkin TuneDock[=http//www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Belkin-TuneDok-Car-Holder-F8E485-/sem/rpsm/oid/109136/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do]Belkin TuneDock. Happy with all of it....

Hey, FON how does your Taurus look with the metra dash kit? My sister was planning on getting a CD Player for her car but we were told that the aftermarket kits sucked. I know that you'd have to mess with the whole front because it takes up not only the radio but also the AC/Heat adjustment parts. Could you take a picture?

Also Happy birthday )

Sure, I'll take a picture or two later today or sometime tomorrow. Most aftermarket dash kits (other than Metra) are just as bad as people make them out to be....but as long as you stay with Metra you most likely won't be disappointed.

Whoops, I'll get on that pretty soon! Sorry, forgot all about it. I'm actually looking into buying a new (used) car...probably 2002 or newer.

I got it installed so from the glove compartment there is a plug (like the flat charger one) that plugs into the iPod and i can control it with the stereo and remote, oh yeah and it charges the ipod at the same time
