Straight from the owner of Free Gadget Network
"Hello,

I have decided to host a raffle which may surprise my users. The raffle will start on August 15 and end at Christmas (Dec. 25).

The raffle winner will be winning a 50" Pioneer Plasma TV and a 20gb Apple Ipod Photo. To win you must complete the AOL offer (more offers will be added that will count towards the raffle). You only have to complete AOL once to be entered into the raffle, the first 200 people to complete the AOL offer will be entered into the raffle. The drawing will be Dec. 25 8am EST.

The raffle has not yet started, we will update our users on which offers will end up counting towards the raffle. Since the raffle has not yet begun there may be changes until it is officially launched August 15th, the 50" Plasma is a guaranteed prize, a more expensive item MAY be replaced before the raffle is set to begin.

Users who complete offers towards the raffle will NOT be credited as a normal offer completion but rather as a raffle entry, users may complete extra offers for extra entries. For now the only offer counting towards the raffle is the AOL offer and that IS set to change, we will be adding offers that have similar pay-outs.

As always....free shipping on raffle items

Since the raffle has not yet begun we are opened for any comments, questions, or suggestions

Best Regards,

how does that work? AOL pays around 25$ per sign up and at 200 sign ups they only make 5000$ That TV costs well over 5000....

Also, id like to point out this site has been proven legit tiem and time again at A4F. Check there for testimonials.

I don't think A4F credentials mean much anymore when it comes to supporting sites. At least not around here.

I guess its free, so if you all want to take a shot at it you can, you just can't do that offer again.

A4F credentials mean nothing. They still have 4nocash as a grade b... lolpwnd

i know, i was told that i had to keep AOL, cos my computer was unsafe and that they had good virus protection (mcafee? lol). i told her my computer was safe, i had kaspersky anti-virus, 3 spyware removers, and a firewall.

she told me that my anti-virus software was out of date, sicne they only update twice a month, and that theirs updates all the time. i laughed and told her i had it set to update every hour, and she told me there are no anti-virus programs available that do that. she insisted my computer was unsafe and i had to keep AOl cos i was at risk of virus'.

lol, i couldnt believe the shit they were trying pull on me.

never ever ever never ever never again.

back when i was in middle school 8-9 years ago we actually had aol for like 2 years at my house... when we decided to go with another service for cable they kept insiting we stay on for a free month every time we called. Sometimes they would say 3 free months to try it and see if you want to keep it. My dad said fine give us all the free time you want to, but I better never see a charge on my card. over a year later they finally shut our service off after having it for free that long

lol, thats sweet!

hehehhehe

09-08-2005 23:59:13

Last year I signed up with them 3 times just to get several of the $100 Amazon gift certificates they were giving away. Never installed anything, just used aol webmail, and after I got the gift cards I sent in three faxes to cancel ;) (much easier than calling those bastards). Regardless, I hate them, and the sooner they give up on their shitty business the better. I wouldn't waste a ref doing this site either...

theysayjump

10-08-2005 00:02:41

yeah i hate them also, the woman was asking me why i didnt want their service if i hadnt even signed in once.......i just told them it wasnt my computer, and i downloaded it for my mother-in-law and she ended up not wanting it so i didnt bother installing it......but that wasnt good enough for her.

I can't believe that anyone would ever use AOL. I don't know [bbbb4a5bac0]anyone[/bbbb4a5bac0] that uses it.

It has advantages for people who aren't computer literate. It's a much simpler process for the elderly and those that just don't care.

Plus, their mail system has huge advantages over standard mail. When mailing other AOL users you can actually change your mind about the mail you've already sent and delete it so they can't read it. Kind of like the pm system here.

But it's definately not worth what they charge for it. How much is AOL for broadband now without broadband? It used to be 9.95 a month which almost made it worth using for some things.

They're pretty persistant and there's nothing wrong with that at times. But they just get ridiculous. I told them my computer broke and I didn't have a computer anymore so they asked me when I'd be getting a new one and I said no time soon. They still insisted I keep it for the email or something, who the hell pays monthly for a damn email? And then they said something about it easy to do research for school or something, well since I"m not 10 I know how to use google and find information I need. I think their job depends on them saying all that crap or else they'll get fired.

Lol their commercials are ghey. I hate how they act like they have some new revolutionary spyware blocking software and anti-spam software.

Just get DSL or Cable and buy Norton SystemWorks. roll
