Well, I'm not sure if the 8 referrals that Gratis is requiring for the new 360, is going to be necessary....

http//www.theinquirer.net/?article=25076

[quote619b92d631="Aaron McKenna"]ACCORDING to unconfirmed leaks from employees of the ubiquitous American retail giant Wal-Mart, the Xbox 360 is to go to retail at a price of $299.99 which is around what has been expected.

There's no confirmation of this from Microsoft, which has kept mum about the price and even exact launch date of the console.

Games are expected to retail above what we had hoped for, with big launch titles Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing3 marked at $59.99 by the Wal-Mart leaking.

The Wal-Mart "leak" is reported here, and the "XNA is a bitch to program for" is from an obviously unnamed source, but it’s credible.

While we’re in rumour mode there have been mumblings coming from developers about the ease of use of the XNA development system which Microsoft has touted up as simple as pie and much more flexible than Sony’s system. Of course developers will always complain and the proof will be in the pudding we suspect, but it’s a niggle.[/quote619b92d631]

Well Gratis is probably gonna keep up the 8 referrals until it is officially declared $300.

Yeah, Gratis really does need to compensate for the people who got 8 refs. I want a xbox360 webcam thing and a game. That'll do as compensation for me. wink

I read an article in a gaming magazine that predicted that the ps3 will actually cost around $400, as Sony seems to have gone way overkill with it. The nintendo revolution, on the other hand, will cost about $250, and will be well worth it in my opinion, as it is planned to be SUPER backwards compatible, having the ability to play gamecube minidiscs and giving owners the ability to download old games from N64 all the way back to NES

Yea, that sounds nice and all...but just remember how downhill the GameCube went after it's first six months. Not much developer support (from the larger games), and for some rediculous reason, Nintendo never [and still may never] put online gaming into the system. Xbox games are good...but when you get 'em on Xbox Live, they are terrific.

Nintendo's pull on this "internet gaming is not the future" is bull. I highly doubt I'll be buying anything "Nintendo" in the near future....

Yeah Nintendo is gay. They're too retarded to configure with internet gaming so they just say that it's stupid.

agreed. Also, that Nintendo Gameboy Micro is supposed to be yet another Gameboy Advance...just backlit. How retarded are they? I think they might be going for a record...making three versions of the same system.

Actually, Nintendo will also be introducing an online gaming service for the revolution, which just happens to have a Wi-Fi adapter built in.

How did you think you'd be able to download the old games wink

Blink182=Gone

[quote5aec69b479]Wireless freedom A number of Wi-Fi-enabled launch titles are in development that will employ Nintendo’s newly announced wireless gaming service, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. A worldwide network of Nintendo players can gather to compete in a comfortable, inviting environment.

I'm not saying that they'll do it better than Xbox Live, or that it'll even be any good at all, but that is straight off of nintendo.com

Online gaming on consoles IS stupid. Why have your gaming limited by restrictive hardware. Console gaming is for single player and group player. Nintendo is the king of party games and has also be the originator of some of the best console gaming experiences ever. Talk all you want about how stupid they are but as long as they are making the innovative and fun games they make for their systems and no one elses I will surely stick with them.

Nintendo is not right about online games. Online games rock for consoles. I had xbox live for a whole year and I loved it. It was really fun and I bet you've never even played on live. Online gaming on consoles is NOT stupid.

Blink182=Gone

and yes...I use TeamSpeak and Ventrilo, but one of the reasons I prefer XBOX LIVE over PC online gaming is the whole "chat" thing. I detest typing out my commands during the game. I'd rather use Xbox Live's built-in voice chat feature.
Even if you use TeamSpeak to chat, you have to get all of your teamates to get on, or else it sucks.

Is teamspeak that thing where all of your friends at your house can all talk under one xbox live account? Or is that teamtalk?

No, TeamSpeak is for PC gamers. It is used to communicate with your friends/enemies, that are in the same channel as you.

Here's the real news.
http//www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/17/AR2005081700763.html

Looks like $299.99 for a scaled down version w/o wireless and hard drive and $399.99 for premium version.. hopefully we just get the premium for the 360 xbox.
