Are you getting an error while trying to get into bios or it just boots directly to hd/cd? Keyboard might've gotten fubar and not work anymore in bios/dos/preboot. Should use a USB to PS/2 Adapter and try going into BIOS/installing vista again.

i only have the mouse usb to ps/2 connector. i can't get into bios. when i reboot my monitor blinks as if it were looking for a signal then it goes to the login screen. ill try clearing the cmos then ill try to install vista again.

Everything works perfectly fine for me. I installed Vista on my old computer and works great (I got some errors at the beginning but everything works perfectly now)

i must be very unlucky.
i installed vista and i restarted my computer to find that windows couldnt find ntoskrnl.exe, which is a really important file.
ended up reinstalling windows xp and losing everything.
i dont think im ever gonna try installing another OS, just wait until the beta stages are over. much, much safer
