People have been telling me that I need to start using RSS feeds. Ok. I see the options on a lot of sites I visit (including here). Their purpose is to keep you abreast of current site news, correct? Or are there more functions?

I'd like to get a reader that basically interrupts my browsing experience as little as possible. I don't want to have to open a seperate window to use the program. I don't even want to have the "bookmarks" folder open on the left, I want my screen as big as it is now. Ideally, I'd like something small, that could just be placed on my toolbar, below my address bar and next to my links. Just a little box... and it could just cycle through the news feeds that come up. Does this exist at all? Or something similar?

Are you gonna use that for your bookmarks? I have a news RSS feed from BBC news as one of my firefox bookmarks.

No, I don't want bookmarks. How to explain this.... I want basically something that will fit next to the 3 or 4 bookmarks I actually have on the toolbar. Like that size, but not a constant bookmark - it would cycle through any rss news feeds that are updated, basically a link that displays for a few seconds, cycles to the next one, etc. Does that make sense?

It does but I don't think it can be done to the extent of my knowledge.

This is how mine is-

That could work I guess, if all of the different sites I subscribe to could go into one bookmark "box".

I knew that someone would look at that. I had a hard time spelling guinea pig in a post I was making so I searched for it really quick knowing that google would automatically correct me.

I was thinking something like "guniea pig" but I knew that wasn't right so I just did a quick search lol.

What's threadjacking?

Well anyway guys I just saw the biggest guinea pig today. It was enormous. So anyway, I kill it and I realize it has baby guinea pigs in it so I gutted them too and I ate their insides because I didn't want to waste food.
