Yah. I was picked by Coca-Cola to test Vault for them. I got aid $60 for tasting 6 bottles of it. It was freakin' good as hell. I still have 1 bottle of it but it's a test bottle and not an actual one.

There's some Vault drinks under the Collectibles section when you search "surge".

Surge is still (or atleast was, when I last visited) at a bowling alley in Utica, NY as a fountain drink. I'm not sure if they had a cache of syrup or what happened...but there was a write-up on it in the local paper within the past year or so.

Hey whatever works. Even better if you go to a car dealership and ask for a Ford, and when they say, "What kind?" you say a Honda Civic.

P

Okay, my northern-ness is showing through, sorry. lol

Edit On that note, Surge was one of my favorite pops. Kind of strange how they pulled it, I would have thought it was doing very well.

In my opinion it makes no sense to say coke when you're referring to a soft drink.

[b447d03cd57]Southern Way[/b447d03cd57]

"What kind of coke do you want?"

"Coke."

"I know but what kind?"

"Coke!"

"What kind?!?!?"

"COKE!!! COCACOLA!!!!"

[b447d03cd57]Northern Way[/b447d03cd57]

"What kind of pop do you want?"

"Coke."

"Cococola, not pepsi right?"

"Right."

Most restaurants only offer one brand so that wouldn't work. They wouldn't say "Coca-cola, not Pepsi, right?" cause most places don't offer both ;)

True...

I think pop or soda is much better though. Here in Colorado if you say you want Coke they'll get you a pepsi or a cococola depending on which one they have. If you say pop they'll say, "Which kind?"

Gatita

I guess I can understand the influence Coke has had over the people. Consider Q-tips and Kleenex... both are company names, yet you don't really hear anyone asking for cotton swabs for your ears. I am sure most people, myself included, call them Q-tips and Kleenex. Coke is that prominent in our society.

But at the same time, the flaw in that theory is that there is a lot of competition in the beverage market. Kleenex doesn't really have a competitor in that market.
So that is why I am surprised the word Coke has become a catch all for every single pop out there... just because there is so much variety.

well coke was invented in atlanta so we are biased to it and usually when you say coke thats what you get a "coke" product. So you might say can i get a coke you get a coka cola or you say can i get a sprite you get a sprite. A waitress might ask what kind of drink do you want and youll say i want a coke she will say what kind you say sprite. We just dont use pop or soda mainly i guess we just say what we want and avoid the soad pop thing most of the time i just say what i want and thats that. clear enough...it actually annoys me when i hear soda or pop idk why

Yeah soda pop sounds retarded. Pop or soda doesn't though IMO.

I personally think the Coke Full Throttle energy drink tastes rather similar to surge, but that's using a memory of the flavor that's at least 5 or 6 years old. Either way, not a bad energy drink. On a related topic, anybody remember Jolt cola? It's back in weird battery shaped cans in like 5 flavors, and not bad.
