Finally I got my Desktop Organized!

My desktop use to be this HUGE mess of programs and things but I FINALLY organized it. It looks pretty cool. It's pretty useful too. Here's a pic of it-

The To-Do list on there is REALLY helpful to me. I put a live webcam on there to of a street in New York and it updates itself every 30 seconds. You can maximize the webcam thing and you can see all the people scurrying around and the cars crossing. Pretty cool. wink And there's CNET news for when I'm bored. D

I know there was already a post your desktop thread but I couldn't find it to bump it so I just posted this.

Anway, I downloaded this program called DesktopX and it comes with "widgets" which are things you put on your desktop such as a webcam or a to do list.

Just search for desktopx on [url==www.google.com]google[=www.google.com]google[/url].

Looks nice. I work right by that place in the webcam, if it was facing south you'd see my building.

Is dashboardX a memory hog? I stay away from stardock stufff ever since I tried windowblinds (memory hog). I use samurize.

Yeah that webcam is the Fifth Avenue from the southeast corner of 45th Street in Manhattan. You work around the corner? Lol you could walk out there and wave to the camera/look for the camera.

Yeah it's a stardock product and it's not really a memory hog for me because I have TONS of free space on my computer and I only use my computer for internet purposes.

Yeah it's really cool. I'm gonna try to get a webcam in Hollywood or something and put it on there. There's tons of other things you can put on your desktop besides just the to do list and the webcam thing. There's a calender, a clock, a CPU usage thing, arcade, gmail, sticky notes, calculator, and a BUNCH of other crap that I'm not gonna list.

And actually desktopx isn't a memory hog. It's only 15.8 MB.

i like the widgets also, id like a webcam of Edinburgh but i doubt id be able to get one.

lol i got a 3200+ athalon 64 with a 6800 ultra oc and a gig of 3200 so im sure i can hack it. I just prefer to have full power for my games -)

aka if im not getting 200-300 fps in css then i have to free up more system resources
