so I sent it in to Apple for service (or am going to). Is this wise? If they send me a remanufactured one, does that mean that one will break down as well?

Take it to the Apple store...you can usually get them to replace it on the spot.

but no. it'll play like the first millisecond of the song then skip to the next one... i've already reformated the harddrive... if they find nothing wrong they'll charge me up to $100! o

maybe the song files are bad.
try taking the "bad" ones off your ipod and re loading them on.
if that doesnt work, try downloading or ripping completely new and different files.

yea i already did

that and more. i reformatted hte iPod.. didn't work.

also. other people on the apple forums have been ahving this problem
