Yeah that's pretty much why people around here do it. Only so many people think the same thing and it gets really dumb with 8 people quoting the same thing and saying nothing.

its about time this has been done.. I say leave it off permanently. would hopefully alleviate some of the bullshit some people post to up the damn post count. forum reputation should be gained by quality, not quantity of posts. maybe a cool idea would be to eliminate karma and give mods ability to grant "awards" or something to members when they make valuable contributions to the board.
