My Canon Digital Rebel camera got water damage and is fucked. the camera itself cost $1,000, and it will cost me $225 to be fixed.
i have no income and the only thing i have to sell is my 20GB iPod.
you think i should sell it and use the money i get from the sale of my iPod, to get my camera repaired?.......i would rather have my camera than my iPod shock but do you think id even get enough to cover the cost of the repair?
my brother-in-law just offered me $250 for everything, would it be better to sell it to him or could i get more on eBay?
i have the iPod in mint condition as well as all the software, warranty, documentation and box in mint condition, all accessories, a case with screen protector(which the iPod has been in since day 2), the Griffin iTrip, the Belkin cassette player to play your iPod in your car and about 12GB's of music on it.
so whatcha think?

Youd probably get more on ebay because of the accessories.

I think the the regular ipod 20 gb's only were selling for 240-250ish, so if you make sure to reinforce that there are extras it would probably go higher, i doubt youd lose money by trying ebay. (by that i mean have it sell under 250)

A good strategy for ebay is to offer rewards when the bidding reaches a certain part. For example, "If the bidding reaches 250$, I will inlcude an iTrip compatible with the ipod." Stuff like that, works every time.

unless you wanna give your brother-in-law a favor by selling it to him for a bit less. but if u don't like the guy then ebay's def the way to go!

I hope you didnt try to turn it on, the alcohol might work, no gurentees though since the camera isnt exactly a flat surface.

yeah i turned it on many times thinking it was just a bit of water in the battery compartment.
my brother-in-law took it and had a look inside and he said that the circuit board was fried on the corner and a little lock thing, was not locked and loose.
so he called canon and asked how much or if it could be repaired and they told him $225 for a new board (

Alcohol wont work then, since you turned it on, which would mean you let the battery go through the water drenched circuit board, in turn short circuiting it.

yeah thats what my brother-in-law said.
oh well, nothing i can do about it now but sell my iPod and hopefully get enough to repair it.
i just hope it is actually repairable (

Im not sure if you should repair it, if other parts are messed up your basically going to be tossing that $225 down the drain. Its a risk you must decide.
PS Or you can perform an illegal exchange licough, i so did not just say thatli

i was nt going to repair it myself, im going to send it to Canon to do that, i already called them and they gave me all the details like how to ship it and pack it what to write on the box and all that shite.

Go buy another one at the store, and return your current one. If there are serial numbers on the sticker gentely remove them and exchange it. Given they still have the same model instock.
