New info from Mr Sofa Sets

This is a email i have recieved from mr sofa sets today. This shall give everyone the answers they are looking for. This was a letter that he sent his publishers. Do not ask me for his email or anything like that. I am posting this as a courtesy to our members to see the info.
[quoteed6383c39e]I apologize that my members are still trying to resolve issues with me by taking them to you. I assure you that all issues of credit have been handled and all credit was up to date when my site went off-line. The fact of the matter is that the same users that are complaining to you are users who had been committing fraud on my site and are the reason that my site is still down.
During the time that my site was up I continually updated credit to users as I received it from my network of publishers. After a few weeks I began to receive emails from users stating that credit had not been received from certain advertisers. I responded to each email and stated that no credit is to be given until I received credit from the advertisers. This response was not good enough for many users and they began to take up smear campaigns against my site using public forums such as Gearlive as vehicles to post false information. All of this was fully expected by me when I made the decision to start an incentive site and I was able to convey my good intentions to my users. Things were going fine but then my personal contact information began showing up on these forums and I began having problems with my other publishers.
It seems that these users, primarily active members of the Gearlive community, had begun contacting my publishers and were accusing me of fraud. This caused me to lose the cooperation of one of my publishers all together and I received warnings from another company that I was to discontinue my communication with the "Free Site Community" and I was no longer permitted to advertise on such forums.
For the record, there is currently no credits or gifts due to my users. As I said before, all credit was up to date when my site went down and nobody, with the exception of Mr. Wolfe, has yet completed their requirements to get a free gift. Mr. Bryan Wolfe at last check had 18 verified and completed referrals, enough to gain a free gift, however he had not yet ordered at the time of my site going down.
Now I have been trying to get my site running again with an entirely new tracking system as well as new fraud prevention measures. This process was to be completed next week with a re-launch of my site. All of my previous users' accounts were to be as they were before the down-time and I was going to gain new users through an email marketing campaign until the word-of-mouth advertising gained enough momentum to support the site on its own.
My most recent snag in the process has been that my domain, "FreeNotebookPC.com" has been hijacked and don't know if I will be able to recover it. You see, it became susceptible to hijacking due to the fact that it was brought to my registrars attention that my contact information was not valid. My contact info was invalid because my users were calling me at home and at work. Upon changing my personal phone numbers and not updating the info with my registrar, I lost the rights to the domain and it was picked up by cyber-squatters just this week.
All of this was set into motion by the overly combative Gearlive community and their inability to stay out of the workings of my business. They have been hindering me from adapting my business model to meet the new demands of my publishers and have continually involved themselves in matters that they should not. The emails that you continue to receive are a perfect example of what I'm talking about. If these false and unfounded accusations keep up then I'm sure I will lose you too as a publisher which will further my difficulties in re-establishing my site.
As I have stated several times in this email, all credit is up to date on my site and no orders were denied without proper cause. There is and never will be any measure of fraud on my part and further I will not tolerate fraud from the users of any of my sites. I have chosen not to support the Gearlive community until my site can stand on its own. This is not because I do not like the Gearlive community, but because I have been left with no choice in light of the actions that their members have taken against me.
My experiences have shown me that if I try to be an active member of Gearlive then my site will surely fail. When my site re-launches all of my users, including the Gearlive members, will again be able to access their accounts and will still have the same status as before. Upon completion of their requirements I will ship out the gift of their choosing. I am sending a copy of this email to Mr. John Lemp, as he also inquired about the complaints from my users. I am also going to forward a copy to Wolfeman as he is being discussed in the context of this email. I used to have a friendship with him so hopefully he will agree that my reasons are valid. If he chooses to, he can inform the rest of Gearlive of my intentions and of the reason for this extended down-time. I apologize for any difficulties that I may have caused and can assure you that the reason for the down-time is to ensure that these types of things do not happen anymore. [/quoteed6383c39e]

Exactly. I followed that whole saga and they did not start saying things were fishy until he was gone for a good 2 weeks. I remember people were still coming back to his thread on there saying "I wonder if he's got moved in yet, come back Sofasets" And all failure sites like to blame the users. Curious, If his site was hijacked, how exactly will he know who's accounts to save? Also he said all credits were up to date, but they weren't b/c I never got credit for the offer I did for his site and others didn't as well. I lost out in a trade b/c I did an offer for someone who never got credit from sofasets so they couldn't do my site. I don't even know who the hell it is now, but I still want my damn credit. B/c I legitmatly completed an offer.
I'm just disappointed in him, b/c his letter seems like BS. I'm sure his publishers didn't tell him to just not talk to the free site community and just leave them hanging to give them the impression that he was scamming them. And he could have very well just had given Stroids a heads up and he could have relayed the message to everyone. But no, he went MIA for months? And he sounds like an tool in his letter [i0979c25fd6]"Mr. Bryan Wolfe at last check had 18 verified"[/i0979c25fd6], Uh... just call him Wolfeman like the rest of the internet does. Well, as far as I can tell that letter was written to a publisher which has witheld payment. Who knows what he's up to...sounds to me like he's just trying to get his long-held check from the publisher(s). Also, by "hijacked" he's not referring to his site, only his domain. More specifically, because his information was invalid the domain registrar pulled his license to the domain and sold it to someone else. See "cyber-squatting" on Google.

I don't think thats true I just think he is using GL as a scapegoat. We were always supportive of his site and 1 user had a problem but the majority of us sided with Sofa. I think if he blames GL his publishers know what it is more than FIPG and know that scammers do go on our boards (here too, stupid fucking AndrewZ)...

well I think this announcement is due to some pressure upon the Clickbooth ownership to release his info. He has been in constant contact with them the whole time, and he always gave them a diferent story. I hope this one is true. I think it finally came down to the point where clickbooth forced him to make an announcement. While they technically can not do anything to him because he didn't break any of their rules, they are still disappointed with his actions, from what I understand.

I never pursued his site but whoever did I would be careful that hes not just coming back one more round for another big haul. He had so many signups from users on this board. No possible way I would trust him anymore.
Seems strange that he would just disappear with no contact at all. Least he could have done is popped in to say that it would be coming back.
