Anyone here play Bass?

I was wondering if anyone played electric bass on these forums. Music is a big part of my life, and I wanted to be involved in it in addition to listening to it, so I bought a bass a couple weeks ago. It's nothing great (a Fender Squier), but it's a beautiful (and uncommon) purple color, so I love it. In the two weeks or so I've been playing/tabbing, I think I've improved quite a bit (I can almost play the bassline from Muse-Hysteria error-free, although not at the speed he does), but are any of you self-taught?
What did you do to get better?
Do you have any tips?
Are there any songs that you recommend to play a lot that would help me get better?
Or just reply here if you have any comments about bass or playing it.

i dont play Bass but i do play the guitar, my wife plays Bass though and she also loves Muse.

i was just upstairs trying to figure out the Bass for Hysteria on my acoustic guitar actually.

i dunno what is good to learn on Bass but when i was teaching myself guitar the easies to learn were Wild Thing, Columbia (Oasis) and The Passenger (Iggy Pop).

its mainly for guitar tab and chords but they do have some bass parts in there that people have submitted.

Which ones do you have (not sure which is their third full length album)? I could possibly hook you up, i might have it, have absolution, showbiz, hullaballoo, and origin of symmetry

Hullaballoo is amazing, its 2 discs, its got some songs off the other albums but i its also got alot of others, and it has in your world, i can prolly find the torrent for it again if you use torrent

yeah Hullabaloo was a live concert in france a few years ago, so they put it on dvd and cd.

Yea, was just gonna say i realized its live, alot of great songs on there though, my favoritie is definitely dark shines though.

I have a very nice bass guitar. Sadly I do not know how to play it though. ( If anyone has tips or a way to teach me how to play let me know.

Start tabbing your favorite songs and learn a little at a time. You'll slowly start building up your fretting ability, your reach, and your speed.

What kind of bass btw?

Well I couldnt find it online actually but I found one on ebay. Its this (http//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38080&item=7333968162&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) one. Except my in the black model so the handle is black as well.
