So I'm planning a trip to the Borgata with the wife and I'm trying to figure out how much I could get away with gambling before it comes to fisticuffs. Since we're getting comped two nights, we'll probably spend at least a few hours in the casino twisted

Now in the past, I probably could have said something like, "You're not my mother! It's my money!" and that would have been that (not that it has ever come to that, luckily I keep my addictions to cigarettes and booze), but now that we're married, I guess I need to consider them [i9a8172196e]our[/i9a8172196e] finances.

Long story short, what's your limit?

That pry all really depends on how much money you make doing whatever you do. I'm stuck in college so I'm not too quick to gamble away more than 100 bucks at a time, just b/c if I lose then I get really really pissed, but 100 is a good percent of my income as well. I'd say a weeks wages isn't out of the question to blow at a casino. ) ) lol

When are you going to the borgata?
I'll be down in Atlantic City Thursday->Friday (this week)

Two things...

First, the borgata is the most expensive casino in AC.
Minimum bets at roullette (my poison of choice) are usually $25+ on friday nights...

Secondly, if you got two comped rooms for a weekend at the borgata this month, then you obviously throw around a lot of money there.
Unless the comp was a gift?

Personally, I dont like gambling with my significant other.
It's not fun having someone harp at you the entire time.

But if you dont have a choice, then I would agree that setting a limit before hand is a good idea.

So if you are an adult, with a decent paying job, and are planning on spending a weekend at the borgata...i'd say $500-$750 is a good amount.

But everyone is different....
$200 can last you the entire weekend, playing $2/$4 hold'em
$2000 can last you 10 minutes playing roullette or blackjack..

I'm going to be down there from Tuesday to Thursday of next week. I had been there once before and joined their points club. It was a stroke of good timing because we were actually planning a trip and they had sent a mailer for one free night per week (Sunday-Thursday) through August. When I called to make a reservation, the guy on the phone informed me that I qualified for two nights, which I jumped all over (free board!!) I don't remember gambling all that heavily, maybe they're anticipating it being slow that week.

Heh, yeah I totally agree with the not enjoying gambling with the significant other, especially since she doesn't particularly have a lot of fun gambling.

Last time I was there, I did manage to find $10 Blackjack tables, but that was around 6 AM lol

Not to deviate too far off topic, but we're planning on going to some beaches down there during the day. I've heard that Avalon and Ocean City. If any one has some other recommendations within 1/2 hour or so of AC, they would be appreciated.

AC has plenty of beach space, although its not the nicest.

If you are looking for a quiet, family beach, Brigantine is less then a mile away from the borgata.
Beaches are nice, and parking is simple.

ocean city has the best boardwalk in newjersey.

if you drive fast enough you can make it to wildwood, and enjoy some boardwalk games/rides.

Checkout the Lobster Buffet while ur in AC )
