Velvet Underground

Alright so who out there listens to the Velvet Underground? This is where we discuss the greatness of the Velvet Underground and Lou Reed.

So to start this off, what's your favorite VU song? Mine's "Heroin." It amazes me every time I hear it.

P.S. No, this isn't the Velvet Revolver thread.

Ive only heard Heroin, but it is a very good song

My absolute favorite band of all time. "Who loves the sun" and Lou Reed's amazing rendition of "Sweet Jane" on Rock n' Roll Animal album are my two favorites. Heroin is indeed a tremendous song.

Ha CC40 likes Velvet Underground. I feel strange having a tiny bit of respect for him.

he prolly just looked that up and said he likes it so you would trust/respect him.

Actually i was wondering that when he first posted, because i don't think that "who loves the sun" is anywhere near one of VU's best.

Ive heard about them but never heard a song by them, can you list some bands that are similar?

Well it's kind of hard to say because i can't think of a band that's a lot like them. If it helps, they were around during the 60's and supposedly they were a large influence on the New York punk scene of the 1970s and the alternative and Indie Rock scenes of the '80s and '90s. So if you're in to any of that, you might like them. Just a recommendation, if you're going to get one of their albums get "Velvet Underground and Nico."

Are they any thing like creedence clearwater reviival (i think my friend mentioned that)

I don't think they sound like CCR, but that's just my opinion.
