I had to format my hard drive and hence a fresh installation of iTunes on it. I have all the songs on my ipod. What happens if I now connect my ipod to the laptop? Will iTunes format clean my ipod? I would obviously like to have the songs from my ipod transferred to iTunes on the hard drive.. how do I do that?

well it depends if you have iTunes set to automatically update your iPod when you connect it to your computer.

No, you have to have a special program to do that. Can't think of it right now.

Or you can use WinAmp and the ml_pod plugin.
