!! [NEW SSHOT] FreeSite Checker pre-release announcement !!

Giving you guys heads up. I'm in the process of programming a FreeSite Checker, which will work with ALL networks (at least the ones I support).
I took a different approach from ICFreePod (which relies on Web Service and only supports Gratis).
So far I've made a very early beta version that works with OC sites. In about 5 seconds (depending on ur connection) it checks and displays the amount of greens/yellows on all OC sites.
I'm going to give it a home soon, and will work on it to implement features like auto-check every N minutes, show emails, visual appeal, ref links, etc.
It has a GUI and is being programmed in Perl with the GUI part done in Perl/Tk.
Stay tuned...

Was that before or after OC turned into a bunch of ass clowns?

Sounds great, I'm sure you'll see alot of support from everyone here. That is, as long as you'll be offering the program free-of-charge ;)

of course, free of charge.

Not necessarily. I will support as many networks as I can (but I will need help from beta testers later, because not having a green on a some network makes it quite hard to debug how it'll work). So far the only one supported is OC, but that's because I started on it not so long ago. Due to my full time job @ Intel, I'm not able to dedicate as much time to it as I would like, but early betas will appear soon I hope...

heh, doesn't mean I approve of the current products though. However, Intel is coming out with some great procs in the upcoming year that will most likely blow AMD away. The Smithfield dual core chip's only purpose was to be first, but certainly not faster than AMD. ;)

The blowing away part doesn't suprise me, since their stuff is usually way overpriced compared to AMD. If you compared both of them dollar to dollar in relation to performance, AMD always beats Intel hands down.
Though, if I had the chance to work at Intel, i'd take it P

I was kinda hoping OfferCentric would get off their Lazy Butts and actually finish/release their WebService. But goign by what I've seen in the past with them, and my experiences, I wasn't holding my breath. They don't seem to be very "customer focused" unless you're talking about their Advertising partners. They don't seem to care about the people they are giving product to.
Glad you got your offers working. I've been trying to wait for something more stable that screen-scraping, so good luck, and I hope the information doesn't change too much for you.. those are always a pain, especially when they keep changing the layouts and stuff (like Gratis has been known to do on more than one occasion).

heh, yeah, that would be the only problem, but I'm planning on letting the users submit update requests if something like that happens, and letting them know there's an update if a new version comes out.

it gave me this message
[quote3338aa8b3c]
The video that you are opening contains data that is not supported by the Divx Player.
The file contains the following type of data FOURCC code "tscc"
You may need to instal a new video codec on your computer to watch this video.

I was just about to ask the same question. Thanks for the codec.
It looks like a nice little program. Are you releasing it soon?

I'm working on it, making progress whenever I can. I would project the next 2 weeks as the beta release date... with more than just OC supported. The beta should have OC, Gratis, 4nocash, and maybe Coobro?
So far I'm seeing a crappy Perl/Tk screen refresh problem, where the buttons suddenly disappear if you cover the window and then focus on it again, they refresh if u hover on top of them or minimize and return back to the app, weird Windows thing... Not really a big problem.
