just be careful what new video games you buy because most of the new titles due for release will have the update codes built into the game and force you to update your version of the psp. Right now the 1.5 homebrew hack is out and verified...1.51 will be very very shortly.

Check out ps2nfo.com for more info.

cbeck out psp-hacks.com, ps2nfo.com they both have links to buncha emulators and loads of other stuff....

the actual exploit is a memory card swap trick...the exploit is a program u install on ur pc, it generates 2 eboot.pbp files, one goes on the first mem card, and the other goes on the 2nd mem card.

The file you download gives you a nice pdf with the instructions. Basically you need two memory sticks, and have the program make a a couple of files that you put onto the respective sticks (the site has some emulators already pbp-ed). You then put in the first stick, and at some point quickly swap it out for the second stick. Then on the second stick you run your program.

That's what I got from it anyway, haven't tried it yet. Sony says it could harm the system, but that may just be them trying to get people not to do it. Still, I personally don't want to take any chances with the already fragile PSP. I'll prolly check up on it in about a month and see how people are doing on it.

Also in other news, Sony just released version 1.52 yesterday.

ive done this swap many times, and it works like a charm )
I was playing doom that was recently released ported to the psp! I am using the 32mb useless duo card to do the single mem stick swap using my pc card reader, and it works great. I am sure ther will be a way to downgrade the firmware to 1.00 so we can all play swapless homebrew. Just a matter of time.
