Guys, I'll be off the forums for a couple of days (or weeks?). I'm having a LASIK surgery on Thursday, and I simply don't know how long I'll have to avoid regular PC use. If everything goes smoothly I should be here sometime next week, but no promises ;)

Once you're back on, please let us know how everything was. I've been thinking about saving to have that done myself, but I've been a little scared. (

I don't even know if I'd be a good candidate.

I will )

I decided to do it (I need that done only to my right eye, as my left one is much stronger, and sometimes that bothers me), although I'm scared as well. We'll see on Thursday. The fact that someone is going to do a surgery while I'm still awake freaks me out, but I have to get over it... somehow. I'll be back as soon as I can, and I'll share how it went.

My aunt had Lasik done, but she still needs reading glasses though

Thanks )

My vision is not that bad, and I don't need reading glasses (although they might be helpful), but I decided to do it now, as my vision was getting worse, and soon I would need to get either glasses, or contacts. Plus I hope this reduces the headaches I've been having lately )

A friend of mine had been legally blind his whole life. He had Lasik done about a year ago and has basically perfect vision (no more coke bottle glasses). Good luck!

Thanks ) I'm looking forward to my eyes being at least somewhat equally strong.

I'm scared only from the operation - I've accepted all the side-effects I'm going to have, but the procedure itself bothers me a lot.

Also, it will be fun to watch me getting used to focusing with both eyes. For 22 years, my dominant eye was the left one, and now the brain has to get used to focusing with both of the eyes. This will surely be fun to see )

Its a very short process, like 20 mins or something like that

Phbs83

15-06-2005 02:38:49

It should be less than 20 mins ) Anyway, it's freaky to watch someone do something to your eye while you're still awake ) I'll get over it P I've gone through "your account is being reviewed" on Gratis sites so many times, and that is freaky enough lol )

I had the eye surgery. I didn like it. There were some complications and they had to tak the eyeball completely out of the socket and do some advanced procedures. They told me it would take about 2-3 days and that they would give me a call for when I was to get it back. Finally went bAck after a few days and they had the wrong eye. So now I look half chineese and am blind in one eye. Damn you eye specialist.

I'm back!) It went perfectly well.
However, this was flicking freaky! Watching someone do something to your eye, while you're not able to close your eyes is .... scary.
One day after the procedure, I see 17% better, which will become even clearer in the next weeks or so.
I feel great, and I really feel that LASIK is worth it.
