i decided instead of building my own computer, id do one those 2 sites instead and just upgrade them.....ive never used a Mac before but would really like to start getting into it and thought this would be a good chance......but then im also used to PC's and windows etc and id know what i was doing etc if i got a PC.
is there a lot to learn about macs? are they easily upgradeable? is the mac mini upgradable?
so what do you think i should go for?
if i was you i would go for the regular comp...
its easily upgradable...
if you want good editing and what no go with the mac
if u wanna do mac i can pay you...

macs are fun, but in the long run, go with the desktop pc.
mac offers better video editing, better programs.. but there are good ones with PC
i would just get the dell

Graphic artists, or any kind of artists for that matter swear by Macs. However, the Mac mini has a laptop hard drive and is pretty slow for editing work (photoshop, illustrator, quark, etc...). You'd have to upgrade the RAM and HD to work comfortably (editing photos for example), and that can be expensive. It really was meant to be used for light stuff, not heavy editing.
I wanted a Mac because I work with photographers (it's a side job) and they all use Macs. I originally decided to get into this free stuff since I was going to buy one (yep, buy) so I'd have compatiblity with them but decided try out this site called freeminimacs, which has sucked me into all these other freebies.
In the end, I haven't yet opened my free Mac Mini since I can work on PC with no compatibility no problems, because photoshop is photoshop. If I were you I'd just get the cyberpower PC from the gratis site or get the dell if you want a monitor too. It'll be easier and cheaper to upgrade. Hey, even Steven Jobs is taking Mac OS to Intel CPUs.
Oh, but some say Macs have better resale value, which is probably true. And the Mac Mini is pretty aesthetic...
he helped more.. think u should sex him
oh and the cyber power sucks
dell is much better

well see im actually trying to be a photographer.....i had been offered a photographers job just before my camera got fucked and i have no job, so i have no money to buy a new one cos its not repairable....but anyway.....
is the RAM for macs any different than RAM for PC's?
i do use Photoshop CS2 and it can be a little slow to start up sometimes on my PC (i have 1 gig of ram, 3.0 Ghz processor) so maybe i should just go with the PC.
thanks hehehhehe.....you dont want head too do you? lol

why does the cyberpower suck?
it seemed better than the dell to me.
ythe cyberpower is faulty
has had alot of problems with some of those who recieved it..
The dell is a good company.. 2.8ghz processor with ddr2 ram
not bad

i really dont like dell (the company), ive heard too many bad stories....i heard a few complaints about the cyberpower but not enough to make me not wanna get it though......thats just me though.
dell fucking rocks...

my parents got my younger brother a dell for xmas, not only did it arrive after it was meant to, but the monitor was sent to someone elses house.....after the person contacted my parents and told them he had his monitor, my parents spoke to dell and ended up having to drive and get the monitor themselves.....then they had to wait an extra week or so to recieve the actually computer itself........dell didnt even offer them some kinda compensation or gift card or anything like that......that alone is enough for me to not wanna deal with them......but hey, if you like them then thats cool.
well... there comnputers are good
their middle eastern slaves are rude

I dont like brand name PCs
the best computers without a doubt are custom built.
If you get a comp from freedesktoppc your FSB will be LOCKED
and you wont be able to overclock your CPU.
(Overclocking for those who don't know much about CPUS is
raising the clockspeed of your CPU past the default settings)
I was able to take the cpu from my custom built computer from
3.0 to a blazing fast 3.6ghz (and YES its stable 8) )
But if you arent a gamer then you probably will be fine with a brandname PC.... Go for the cyber power and NOT THE DELL Dells gheyness is pratically legendary..... roll
Ive never been into macs... I had to use one for my
"software applications" class and I HATED it Even if it was for free no mac computer is worth keeping IMHO

Yeah, RAM for Macs is SDRAM. It's reasonably priced to get 512MB but still more expensive than for PC. I think apple charges $300 for them to install 1GB.
Photoshop CS2 is slow to start up for me too, but if you have a 3GHz PC already, why do you need another one lol?
As for the lovin', maybe if we end up in prison or something, i'll take you up on it lol .
