I'm looking to pick up some new bearings and wheels for my Solomon TR8s. I have 77.5mm Hyper Speed wheels right now and mostly want to go fast and cruise (no jumps or tricks at all). I've been looking on eBay at wheels and bearings but realize I have no idea so I better ask for help first.
I think I want ABEC 7 bearings and then some fast wheels. Does anyone have suggestions on brands or things to look out for or look for in both bearings and wheels?
Also, I've never replaced my wheels before, how many bearings will I need to replace all 8 wheels? Is this an easy thing to do?
Thanks.

well if its any help.. you're on the right track going for abec 7 bearings
those are the fastest types. If you're not gonna be doing any tricks
go for bigger wheels so that you can get more speed and have a smoother ride. Bigger wheels will help you roll over cracks and small obsticles with ease.
Also if you can, GO TO A REAL STORE to find your gear. Trust me its worth the extra few bucks. Most skate stores install equipment for
FREE plus you will be able to get more information from them about
the best wheels and brands and such. totally worth it.
btw why dont you do tricks? inline skating tricks are so easy due
to the fact that the skates are attached to your feet. I was doing
360s and jumps the mment i mastered basic movements but to each his own i guess.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you have any specific suggestions as to brands of wheels to get, or brands to stay away from? Like what are the crappy wheels that are listed cheap, but no one buys them except dummies?
Are there differences between brands of bearings? ABEC0& is a rating right, not a brand?
I injure myself doing other sports, (cycling, ultimate, running) - no need to do it on skates too.

Cant really help too much with the brands because i always used K2 wheels only. But since you want speed like I said you will need big
wheels and you will want softer wheels to absorb shock better

that would be a good for someone whos totally into speed.
As far as bearings are concerned ABEC is a rating not a brand
ABEC1 being for n00bs and queers who buy their shit shit at Kmart
and Abec7 being for people who race.
I love extreme sports... the risk of injury is half the fun lol

i forgot about this thread... Wheels are a bit too small and a bit too hard
the bearing are great you should get them. For wheels you
wanna get the REALLY big soft wheels like 76A softness and like 80mm
in size. You'll pratically fly down hills if you get those...
