In my spare time I run a bicycle store and do trading and free sites full time. Wait, no, reverse that. Ok, anyway, I have set up an online business before (online store for my bike shop) but am interested in setting up a free site. I know who to contact about offers and what not but am really looking for is interest. Would the users on this forum be interested in doing a free site for bicycle parts and accessories (from BMX, to road bikes, to mountain bikes basically everything)? There is plenty of start up capitol and an actual store front to back the online site. Whats the consensus? Also, what about scripting the site, no one seems to like the scripts by Epidemik, what are the other ones out there?

As for prizes
There would a few standard prizes on the site (ie common bicycle products), a cash offer and a custom order offer. With the custom order offer you would tell us either specific bike or part, or what you are looking for in a bike or part. Since I run a bike store, I know what I'm doing (been in business for over 20 years). Brands of bikes can't be disclosed on the site or here due to dealer agreements. But, there are quite a few that I can get.

If the refs were at a decent, I'd consider going for a free bike (not accessories, as I don't have a bike I ride). Any idea as to what they'd be?

Since there are agreements between dealer and company I cannot list those online, but I can PM you with the bikes that might be available

me too... But I am must interested in street bikes. a used Trek touring bike would be nice.

My mountain bike needs new gear sprockets (not sure what they are called), and new crank... I was just about to go out and buy them but you you site depending on the amount of refs needed if I can get them before my summer Utah trip then I would be game.

PM me a link to your online store...

I like freestyle...not mountain bikes. So I'd be looking for shit that DansComp.com has

Used bikes would be a no go, as for components everything would be available, Peksim you are talking about a new cassette. As for how many referrals an item would cost it would be 5 refs for a $300 item. Everything will be based near MSRP, but close items will be rounded down (ie $325 will be 5 refs).

I'm really into Road biking and Mountain biking, this sounds like a great idea!

I'm not really interested in getting anything more for the road bikes my Dad and I have, but I'm definitely interested in getting some stuff for my Mountain Bike.
