So most of you probably have heard of this site, right? [And yes, I do realize there are other threads on this]
Well I have been using it for about 3 or 4 months now, and all I can say is WOW!
Be absolutley sure to download the Explorer, and add a payment to get started (I used the XROST Prepaid iCards [money taken from PayPal] and got a 10% bonus)
They have good music, and it is so cheap. Most albums are like $1.27 or something like that (all depends on file size).
[bda5f375435]What I like most about it, though, is that you can encode the songs you get for AAC format before you download them. This means that iTunes doesn't even have to do anything when it comes to transferring to the iPod![/bda5f375435]
As for it being legal? I think it is, but I really am not 100% sure. At least in Russia it is, and I believe it is in the U.S. but I am not completley sure.

Do they really? Because I [sadly enough] used to be a Limewire user and the iPod wasn't accepting some of the songs that I would put on there.

limewire has some .wmvurl==http://=http:///url files.. maybe you were putting those on there.

Yah, you can choose what kind of file to download. All the songs I have downloaded off of limewire have went onto my iPod fine.

I actually have like 11 different groups [I'm involved in 11 different extracurriculars...next year it will be 13] (for those that can remember the post I made about HS Labeling).

it's a p2p program like kazaa.. only illegal if you download copyrighted stuff...
but yea. it works just like kazaa, and maybe better in some areas.

i tried limewire and it was shit....the average download speeds were about 12kbs for the stuff i was looking at. i looked for quite a few things.
allofmp3 has the stuff i want, and the bitrate of my choosing, for a very good price and at speeds of about 100-140kbs. at least with allofmp3 you're not totally fuckin people over, at least someone gets some money this way.
and i already have money in my account and you cant take it out, transfer it or anything like that, so long as i have money in there im gonna keep using it.
if someone doesnt wanna use it cos its "illegal" then i respect that, i understand where you're coming from, but at the same time, shouldnt the authorites be paying more attention to things like limewire as opposed to foreign sites selling music for a discounted price?

i think you have to have money in your allofmp3 account before you can use their service...the minimum amount of money you can add to your account is $10....it used to be $5

wow, have any of you ever discovered "torrents"?
I use torrents, they usually have the newest CDs before they are even released in America. If you want to wait until they are released, u can get the official Retail versions of the cd if you prefer.
Definately the way to go...I've Dl'd tons of full cds at either 320kbps or VBR bitrates.

...but then again, if you are worried about getting your songs "legally", you should go with iTunes. At least you know that they are giving most of the profits they make to the artists. I wouldn't trust Napster, with all the crap they've been through over the years.

yes, but there are a few differences

- With Limewire, you usually have to download individual songs one-by-one to get an entire album. (not always, but usually)
- Limewire has millions of different bitrates for songs. If you worry about song quality, you should go with torrents because they tell you up front what the bitrate is. (most of the time.)

well, the speeds can differ, depending on who you are uploading from...much like WinMX, KaZaa, or Limewire.
The average speeds I receive for a full CD download is about 50-60k per second. I occasionally will get 140k, but then again it is usually about 40-100k.
