Use the Apple Up-to-Date program
http//www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate
However, it may be tricky with these since we don't get the receipts. I did mine after doing a buy-back at the apple store (so I had an apple store receipt). I had to mail it in (couldn't do it online).

http//www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/
go there, and then under the Hardware Up To Date, click on US Systems.
It will have you login/create an apple id. After that, it will ask you to qualify your system by giving the model, serial, date of purchase, place of purchase, and City.
I did April 27, 2005 (thats's what the estimated date of purchase was from apple according to their records) , and I put in Efulfillment for the place of purchase, and for the City, I used the city that they shipped from (it was on my DHL tracking and I don't remember it). Well, I did all of that, it qualified it, and I paid $9.99 + Tax, and they mailed me a copy of Tiger.
To get the estimated date of purchase, go here
http//www.apple.com/support/
and towards the bottom on the right, there is a box that says 'About your Apple product' put in your serial # there, and it will tell you the purchase date and warranty status.
Hope this helps anyone!
I may put this on as a regular message to help others in case they don't look here.
