Two scammers caught - FreeiPodGuide Forums

Just all of you who haven't known, and hopefully you didn't have many trades with them. But we caught two scammers who came back and made new names.

The first being Stavros, he was a good trader turned bad, he left many people hanging and blocked them on AIM. He came back as MacTrader, he was caught a few days ago.

The other being wutthechris. He scammed several people and took off. He came back as Cinnabar, hopefully he doesn't have too many oustanding trades.

Both are banned, and we are on the look out for more. =)

Dosent phpbb have the ability to ban by ip? If so couldnt you ban them that way?

They have been banned by IP, whoever banned wutthechris the first time didn't get him by IP. And stavros and mactrader were banned at the same time.

pff ban by ip = unplug for a few seconds and replug the router for most people. there's practically no way to ban dsl and dialup users...

Cable follows the same way now dosent it? Unless you have old cable with the static IP - I was told they went to Dynamic IP which could sux for me on sites if say the power gives out lol

Not that IP bans do very much as you can see but that's really a shame about the ban. All of the trades going on were legit and the TR reflected it.

True and well put... but according to some (and if it was my site I'd agree), opposition to the moderators is the wrong side IF I want to retain my ability to access this forum.

Eh, mods do have power and should be listened to. But its not like they are infallible. If you have a problem with them just don't post about it in the forum and keep it to yourself if possible.

he went green yesterday, and i requested approval and i checked today and it gave me the option to order it....freeipodshuffle...our swap lasted about a week...not even...i went green for his logitech on tues or wed of last week...he signed up for my site on saturday and it went through approval

Well, I did a trade with Cinnabar. I went green first. I PMed him about our current trade to see if he'll be making good on it since he says he plans to. I guess I'll find out. I'm going to find a replacement for him if he doesn't respond in 24 hours. Scammers are bad, but scammers who force you to wait longer for your prize than you otherwise would have are the worse.

im surprised at cinnabar.. we just did a trade a week ago.. i payed $27 for my last green at freephotoipods and he did it and went green a few days later.. my account was approved and his referal didnt get rejected.. i guess i got lucky because i was having horrible luck with ppl doing freephotoipods refs for me.

For what it's worth, what upset me about your post and caused me to say that was the tone of your message. I have always respected members' opinions and I'm always open for suggestions and criticism. Well, I did his Logitech4free, and he was supposed to do my DS4free. He stopped replying to my IMs, emails. So i contacted the admin at Logitech4free (NC Transactions) and his account is placed on hold until further notice! If you read this Cinnabar, do my ds4free, or no logitech for you.
