Great deal, really. I could get it on eBay for cheaper but I don't always trust buying electronics on eBay - plus, I drive a 99 Taurus so the free installation is a HUGE plus. Still need to pick up the Metra dash kit ($59) - but you can only use 4 gift cards per-order so I figured I'll order them separately and pick them up at the same time (I have $85 worth of gift cards - 6 x $10, 1 x $25)

You sure your mother needs [i17b4c06db4]this[/i17b4c06db4] HU? Unless she has an after-market system this deck won't be worth any more to her than one of the "entry level" HU's. If she does need this one, though, its $269 in-store, and I believe $242~ online + free shipping & installation....can't really beat that.

I remember when Pioneer was developing that HU. They had users write in what they would most like in a HU and thats what they came up with from the responses. Pretty cool.

That's a real nice headunit....good move with the free installation, cause circuit city tends to overcharge on installs with stuff that wasnt baught in their store. As part of my sub/amp installation, they tried to charge me $80 for an 8-gauge wiring kit (that they sell on the shelves) whereas any other private place would just cut the desired amount of each wire from huge 500' spools (MUCH cheaper)

Very nice how'd you get the Gift cards? Free? Offers? I was at CC a few days ago and saw that...it was nice.

The installation is only a big deal for me because (as many of you may know) my car is pretty difficult to wire (the tuner is in the trunk, climate control knobs are in-dash). As far as where the gift cards came from, I got a bunch of them from Trilegient offers, the $25 one from FreeGiftPlanet.com, and I have bought some (@ a discount) as well.

and your right slease....i use to work for pioneer electronics and they have engineers working with regular people about the designs on the headunits....
