Having worked at many retail stores in the past couple of years, here are 2 really funny stories
I worked at Toys R Us about 5 years ago. One lady (she was a mom or something) returned 2 video games, I think they were Playstation 1 games (some CD type of game). She was furious! Apparently, she bought the 2 games and when her son opened them, they were just cardboard cutouts with pennies stuck on them. So it turned out that the person who bought the games before this woman, opened them, took the CDs, replaced them with the cardboard, sealed them back up, and returned them. The pennies were used to give the cardboard some weight, so it wouldn't feel like the box was empty. So the person who did that got away with some free games. I bet he did this many other times too. And of course, the managers at the store had no choice but to give this woman 2 new games.
I also worked at Michaels Arts & Crafts store for a little while, about 3 years ago. Back then, they had a reallllllllly liberal return policy, where they would give CASH back to any returns with or without a receipt. My store also didn't have any cameras or anything. So this one time (and I bet it happened many other times too), this one guy returned 4 big picture frames. He had no receipt. And I think they were worth about $100 or maybe even $200. Since they give back cash for any returns, and they had no way of knowing when or even if the item was purchased, this guy just got his money back for the frames. Turns out that he just walked to the back of the store and brought those frames up to the return desk for money back. Note Michaels has since changed their return policies.

haha, those are good.
My cousin told me some similar stories like your Toys R Us story. Both times it was computer boxes. The first time, the person brought it back saying that when they opened the box there was suitcase in it or something lol. The second time, the woman just said she didn't want the computer and wanted her money back. Well they have a policy now to open the boxes right there to look at the item, and the woman didn't want anyone to open it. I think she ended up taking the box back and not getting her refund, b/c clearly there was no computer in the box.
Now for my story
I worked at Sonic and this guy ordered a fish sandwich. A fish sandwich comes with just lettuce and tartar sauce. So the guy goes into the lobby and eats his sandwich then when he's finished he comes to tell us at the counter that he found [bbc95d1dd3e]1 pickle[/bbc95d1dd3e] in his sandwich! So he got a new sandwich even though he had eaten the one with the pickle in it. Like he couldn't have picked the pickle out and went on about his business, or broght the sandwich to the counter when he knew the pickle was there. roll
FYI The pickle got in his sandwich b/c the lettuce & the pickles are right next to each other. It must have fell in the lettuce tray or something.

Pretty good Sonic story Retro...I've got one for Subway. I worked at a Subway near my house that boasts the highest sales in NY state - outside of metro areas (NY, etc), so needless to say, we've got a pretty busy lunch hour. Anyway, we are pretty backed up, but not much more backed up than normal - and this guy comes through. He orders his sub (don't remember what kind, or what kind of bread). But before getting to me (I was doing pickles, peppers, olives, etc.) his order was basically finished, save for wrapping it up and ringing it out. I ask him if he would like any pickles, peppers, olives, etc. and he seems a bit confused between green peppers and bell peppers, but I point out which is which and he asks for bell peppers (yellow)...so I put them on his sub (he watched me grab them, and watched me put them on the sub)...he waits for me to finish putting them on his sub to tell me he wanted the green peppers...so i proceed to take off the bell peppers...and he tells me no, I don't want that sub any more. Needless to say he backed things up like whoa - AND - got me in trouble... (
Sorry I suck at telling stories on the computer

lol FreeOffers, people can act like idiots when it comes to food. People use to always order the wrong thing because they didn't really know what something was called, and then I'd get in trouble and ppl would act like I took the order wrong.

No biggie...once the boss left that night, we made (what we believe to be) the first ever Subway pizza! We used dough used to make the plain bread, sauce from the meatball subs, cheese from the cheesebread, and pepperoni. Needless to say it was delicious.
