Really Awesome Story About Olive Garden + iLoveFreeFood.Com

A couple Days ago I receievd my $50 gift card courtesy of ilovefreefood.com (an i-deal direct site that is now expired). I had chosen to receive a Quizno's card, however, they saw fit to send me a gift card good at any "Darden Inc" establishment (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc...)

So, My family and I decided to spend an evening at the Olive Garden. Everyone ordered and then our salad came, everyone served themselves and started to eat. Then... my dad goes, "shit!...there's a spider" and sure enough in the salad there was this sort of small maybe fingernail size spider. We called the waiter who was really embarressed and he took it back to the kitchen.

A few minutes later the manager came out with our new salad and assured us that this salad didn't contain any spiders, and that since all the ingredients are fresh, something like this isn't all that uncommon (which i believe, it's understandable). So We got the meal of 4 people free, and the manager gave my mom another gift card to the Olive Garden for $50.

I can understand people sueing over this shit and making alot of money (which my dad wanted to), but I'm happy with $100 credit to the Olive Garden. Infact, the meal was pretty damn good

thats a cool story...although personally i dont think id sue someone just over finding a spider in my food....unless it did me some kind of damage or whatever then yeah.......but glad you had a good night! D

But MicroChris, are you insane? Olive Garden being one of the best places to eat? Their soup and salad deal is alright for 6 bucks or whatever it costs, but canned sauce is not my idea of good Italian food.

Regarding what else could be in your food...my sister waitressed at a restaurant where President Clinton ate at in St. Thomas, and she said that on more than one occasion she had seen roaches scurry out of bread as it was sliced.

Oh well, no, its not the BEST place in the world to eat, but it beats the shit out of McDs and all the shitty fast food places..

And I agree, canned sauce is crap.. Coming from an Italian family (my last name is a town in Italy), canned sauce was a grave sin.
