hey, looking for a little advice here. I paid hokeypokie to sign up for me under freepsps. he did. problem is that the freepsps system screwed up and did not show his referral, not even the email. this is a problem that a few people have been having lately (see http//www.freeipodguide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13845[]http//www.freeipodguide.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13845).

anyway, what do you think i should do in terms of our trade. i did my part of the bargain. he did his part of it, but I never saw the result.

any ideas on what to do?

yeah, that is obvious. BUT do i require the guy i traded with to do another offer, or return the money, even though it is not his fault?

Send in a complaint from both parties to gratis. It will most likely not get you any kind of credit but will alert Gratis to the problem.

I'd suggest hokeypokie pay you back your money since he can't complete his end of the deal. If he has already done an offer, remember, never do an offer until you verify that you are under the persons status page, and he should still return your money.

Also, I suggest not doing trades where you have to pay first. If you are at that TR level than you should be trading and not paying. It's not safe to pay first.

No, because it's not his fault.
That's why when you do a trade, they should sign up & then you should check to see if they show up under before they do their offer.

we already sent complaints and got nowhere. though they did say they will have their IT department look to see if there is a problem with the system. in terms of paying, he has a high trade rating and was trustworthy so i paid first. my first time doing that.

thanks for the advice!

I disagree, it is the person doing the offer that should wait and make sure they show up. People are so eager to sign up and complete an offer that they gloss over an important step in the process.

How is that different from what I said?. The person doing the offer can't look and see if they showed up under you. So clearly, once they sign up & tell you, you have to go check and make sure that they're there.

Sorry, I was saying that they should ask to make sure that they show up. If the person that Thatch did a trade with did not make sure that the signup worked before he did an offer, than he should either refund Thatch's money or do another site for him.

Also, Thatch, this post probably should have been in the Help section.
